The Invisible Man: The Complete Series Blu-ray The Invisible Man: The Complete Series Blu-ray Review the bd of the 1975-1976 tv series comes out in 2 days and dvdbeaver has posted a review where they reveal that the entire 10 hours has been put on ONE single layer blu-ray. On top of that the 1.33 OAR has been changed to 1.78 for all episodes, and there is lossy audio and no subtitles. If all of that is not bad enough, the pilot episode has heavy distortion of image due to incorrect encoding. It's not completely definitive, but this could very well be the WORST bd release ever on the format imo. what an incompetent disaster!! ![]() Last edited by Deciazulado; 06-22-2012 at 06:20 PM. |

The crazy thing is, most people will probably thrilled with that release.
I can tell it's been DNRd but most people would consider it clean and sharp for a 70s TV show (the same people that prefer the UHE of Predator Plus, those same people would rather it take up their entire screen in 1.78:1 as opposed to 1.33:1. So as crazy as it sounds, I doubt there will be a lot of complaints outside Blu-ray/AV forums like this one. I think it's trash and would not buy it. The pilot episode being horizontally stretched from 1.33:1 to 1.78:1 is ridiculous, but at least you could correct the AR on your TV for that one
Check out my Star Wars Home Video Collection Website:
swhomevid.site40.net Yes, I STILL BUY DVDs! Any DVD with extras not ported to the blu-ray is STILL WORTH BUYING! Most recent blu-rays: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Triple Feature (April 26), Star Trek: The Original Series, Season 1 (April 20) |

I have the DVD release of that. They never even released the second season to DVD, but you never know. This release of the 70's series proves anything is possible in regards to Blu-ray. I'm hoping they put the Nightstalker with Darren McGaven on Blu-ray, That would be sweet.

I don't know why some of making an issue concerning this title since it hasn't even been released yet. I've learned that some reviews can be biased in a certain direction and I usually wait until I see a review by someone who has actually purchased it, from the viewpoint of a consumer.

![]() It is CONFIRMED that the original OAR is not being used. It is CONFIRMED that there is lossy audio. It is CONFIRMED that the Pilot is completely ruined due to errors in encoding. and it is CONFIRMED that there are no subtitles. none of that will change based on "other" people reviewing it. in the case of these issues your comment just doesn't make one bit of sense. I'm sorry. |

We ARE talking about First Look Studios here. Their name needs to be Last Look Studios because once you see their transfers, that's the last damn time you want to.

BS.
The series was fascinating and very charming. I was ready to buy it on BD. Special effects were also wonderful for the age it has been produced. They just screwed the only chance to bring this to a total rediscovery. |

As are a lot of series, as are a lot of movies. Makes no difference. If it entertains you, it entertains you.
But there is no excuse for a bad presentation! The industry has had a decade and a half to get it right on DVD. If they're putting something on Blu-ray, they better know what they're doing. |
