Default Hitchcock Box Set Priced @ Amazon UK

Amazon UK has Alfred Hitchcock: The Masterpiece Collection on Blu-ray priced at 112.49.

Discounting VAT, the US price including shipping would translate to $150.91 or about $10.78 per title.

It's significantly cheaper and most people seem to prefer the packaging, definetely something for people in both the U.S. and Canada should consider unless the price significantly drops for us.

I already placed my order. Now just hoping I dont get hit with import duties at the border

It should be mentioned thou that this set does NOT include North by Northwest Vs the North American Release.

Doesn't matter to me as I already have the digibook, but may have some added value to others

That price brings the set to $130 with each title priced at $9.25.

Could there be further price reductions down the road?

i hope so.

on a sidenote: do i have to cancel my original order and re-order to get this new price? I am worried if it goes back up to $111 i will loose this deal?

Usually Amazon will charge the lowest value when pre-orders change price - couldn't hurt to drop them an email though, they've always been helpful when I've done that in the past.

I now have Hitchcock, Bond and Universal Monsters on the same preorder for a little over $300.00. These are a combined $760.00 list price in the US. Their combined price today on Amazon .com is $523.26.

Nice find by Nisei in the other forum
US style packaged version (still without NXNW)
http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=563

as I asked in that thread can anyone who regularly orders internationally answer these questions.....

More importantly I assume I log into the UK site with my US login, can cancel a preorder before it ships if for some reason the US version drops to an equal or lower price, and can use a giftcard balance on my US account on the UK site?

You can log in and order with your regular Amazon.com US account name/PW. A little weird to log in and see all your information already loaded.

You may not use US Giftcard or Amazon balances unless this has changed in the last month or so.

You can cancel any preorder prior to shipment just like Amazon.com

Shipping for most single items (most boxsets are considered singles) is around $5USD and about 1.50 for each added item if you wish to combine orders

Other points:
If you use a CC to order you will be charged a Currency transfer fee unless you have a card which waives this fee. Amazon currency converter will allow you directly to avoid the CC fee since it will charge you in US dollars, but Amazon builds in it's own 3.5-4% surcharge into the Currency Exchange rate so you basically pay it anyway. I think all Capital One cards are fee free and increasing number of Chase and AMEX also waive this fee though usually it's one of their premium cards with an annual fee.
