Obligatory.

My stance on Anime...I just can't understand any of it, everyone is either a 10 year old girl or a monster.

<--- See avatar, you know it's going to be day 1.

I can't imagine that it will look better than the barebones Italian release in terms of image quality, but I hope that it will have lossless audio and some nice extras. Shout Factory always have plenty of extras. It will be interesting to see which ones they have for this. Hopefully the entertaining audio commentary from Carpenter and Roddy will be ported over from the UK Optimum release.

Definitely a day 1 purchase.

I'll be picking this up. John Carpenter movies have that Roger Corman "B" quality to them. They are fun, can also be rather aloof. Personally, I find The Thing and Starman to be his best. They were at least more serious in their production values.

carpenter is the man for sure. as much as i love almost all his movies (im looking at you Escape from L.A.) Prince of Darkness is one of my favorite horror films of all time. its such a dark and disturbing movie. one would be hard pressed to find a better and more disturbing end of the world picture then Prince of Darkness. the ideas in that film that are put on screen are simply genius.

i guess when your a master at your craft some movies tend to get overlooked and its hard to look past such greats as halloween, escape from new york and the thing but gems like They Live and Prince of Darkness are well worth the time. both deserve blu ray treatments.

They Live is great for all the connections to consirpacy theory i.e. the reptillans and how they operate on a differant vibrational wavelength to stay hidden and control the world of men and women. i love the film for what it represents.
