Default Stands for Aperion Intimus 4B Satellite Speakers.

I have a pair of Aperion Intimus 4B Satellite Speakers (http://www.aperionaudio.com/product/...13,90,261.aspx) in high gloss black. They're 8.75" H x 5.33" W x 5.5" D and weigh 6.5 lbs. They look about as good as they sound — gorgeous.

Rather than keep them on a table or on shelves or mounting them to the wall, I would like to mount each of them on an elegant but sturdy speaker stand that rises about 25 inches or so from the floor. An adjustable-height stand may be preferable, but I'll also consider a fixed-height variety.

I had initially tried a pair of Sanus EFSAT-B1 Adjustable-Height Speaker Stands (http://www.amazon.com/Sanus-EF-SATB-...Sanus+EFSAT-B1) but I quickly became concerned about the quality of the design, especially the fact that the height of the adjustable posts is maintained by a screw-in knob that can easily fail to engage and hold the posts securely. Obviously, I don't want my speakers to fall or otherwise move around unexpectedly in any way.

BTW, building a pair of stands is out of the question for me. I'm not at all handy in that way.

So, what specific stands to purchase would you recommend for my speakers? About $150 could be budgeted for the right pair of stands, though I'm flexible.

I have those exact Sanus stands myself, and currently use speakers heavier then the 4B's. I don't have any problem with the locking screw staying engaged. They've never slipped on me, so it might not be as flimsy as you fear.

This site has a fairly comprehensive selection. You should be able to find something you like here.

On the pair of stands I received, the locking screw wouldn't keep the pole extended, even when the screw was twisted in as far as it could go and there was nothing on the pole. As I tried to twist the screws they just wouldn't engage tightly but kept "slipping." I've seen some other complaints.

In any case, since this involves my speakers, I don't want to take any chances.

Thanks, Louie. Some others have referenced that site too. I'll browse around there. I was hoping, though, someone would be able to recommend a particular model or brand of stand with which they've has had experience.
