United Kingdom Delicacy (Audrey Tautou)

Delicacy Blu-ray REVIEW

NEWS/TRAILER
http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=9057

Quote:
Studio Canal have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray David and Stephane Foenikos' La délicatesse a.k.a Delicacy (2011), starring Audrey Tautou, François Damiens and Bruno Todeschini. The preliminary release date set by the studio is August 6th.

Audrey Tautou stars in this whimsical romantic drama adapted by David Foenkinos from his own best-selling novel. When her husband and soulmate, François (Pio Marmaï), is tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident shortly after their wedding, Nathalie (Tautou) is plunged into darkness and despair. Three years later, love and hope finally re-emerge in the unexpected form of a kiss from her unprepossessing Swedish colleague, Markus (François Damiens).

Watched this last night...really enjoyed it. Wasn't sure where the film was going at first, but by the end I really liked it. Definitely not as predictable as a lot of UK/US romcoms, a bit quirky in places, and good performances by Audrey and the not-so-obvious male lead. Audrey's films have been a bit hit and miss lately, but this definitely goes in the hit column

Sounds intriguing. Pro-B might you review this one? I put a lot of stock in your reviews and they have helped me make informed import purchases.

You did. Thirty-five years from now, you re-programmed me to be your protector here, in this time.

Talk about a timely post . We actually talked about this film during our staff meeting today, and I am actually finishing a review of the UK release, which should be up later today.

Really good film, and if you are Swedish probably a great one...

Sounds like a sign to me. Nearly an assured purchase - but I'll probably have to keep an eagle eye for a used copy because of the new price. Look forward to reading the review.

I really enjoyed this film, although you really have to suspend disbelief around the central relationship. Definitely better than most American or British rom-coms.
