Studio Canal Elephant Man & 3 Days of the Condor in plastic amaray...

I see that the Studio Canal release of The Elephant Man and 3 Days of the Condor BD's are now out in plastic amaray cases.

Am I correct in assuming that these releases do not have the same extra features as the original SC book style releases?

Disc wise, I'm 90% sure the discs are identical. As for the books features, a booklet is inside them which I think has the same writing and images as the digibook version.

The reason I thought it might be missing the extras is that the current SC plastic amaray in the UK for The Deer Hunter is reported to have dropped extras that were in the SC book packaging.

Tracked down the Elephant Man amaray version yesterday and wrote down the extras to answer this:

• Joseph Merrick: The Real Elephant Man
• The Air is on Fire: Interview with David Lynch
• John Hurt interview
• David Lynch interview
• Interview with David Lynch by Mike Figgis
• plus 20 page booklet

I saw Deer Hunter in store today, no special features listed. I believe this is because it is actually a completely different release compared to the Book version.

Deer Hunter amaray definitely drops extras plus also the lossless 2.0 track which means you are stuck with the incorrectly pitched 5.1 lossless track.

What about The Graduate?

My Deer Hunter AUS copy (amaray version) has the lossless 2.0 track.... I just checked to make sure. Maybe some batches did keep it????
But definitely no extra's as said.

very interesting, I rememeber getting it when it was first out here and it didnt, and so I sold it and got the UK book instead. Maybe newer copies have it back in.

Yeah don't know, I bought my copy late last year. Might have been a lucky pick-up, although the lack of extras is frustrating. You can really tell the difference between the 5.1 and the 2.0 tracks, they really stuffed up the 5.1
