"Don Brinkley, a famous television writer and stepfather of Christie Brinkley, died at the age of 91.

Brinkley’s stepfather died Saturday in Sag Harbor, New York, according to a spokeswoman. The cause of death appears to be problems related to old age.

His work spanned over 50 years and included Trapper John, M.D. and other popular programs airing during the 1950s and 1960s. Wanted: Dead or Alive, The Untouchables, Ben Casey, Rawhide, The Fugitive, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Medical Center are just some of his many credits.

Brinkley received many accolades as a writer. In 1988, the Museum of Broadcasting in New York awarded him for his achievements in television. In addition to his career as a writer, he also worked as a journalist for CBS Radio News.

He is survived by his second wife, Marge, and their two children, Christie and Greg. Don adopted Christie as his own. Brinkley is also surviving by two children he had with Lois, his first wife. He is the grandfather of Alexa Ray Joel. "http://thecelebritycafe.com/feature/...inkley-dead-91
