Looks good. I've only watched a couple of his other films (Hulks sucks but Crouching Tiger is really good).

Everyone was talking about this but I saw Prometheus in 3D IMAX and did not see any footage.

Same here. Saw Prmoetheus in IMAX 3D and didn't see anything for this.

Been waiting for this from the start of this year. Was it part of some marketing streategy to release the trailer so late

It has more fantasy elements than you could think of (in a dramatic setup) and a excellent twist at the end

M. Night Syamalan was associated with the adaptation of the book long back and later he dropped off.
And if the boy can act, then we are in for a potential Oscar contender in all the major categories

Saw the trailer when seeing Spiderman a couple of days ago. First impression was lots of CG CG CG. Hmm.
