Default The Bunny Game - July 31, 2012

Am I the only disturbed, twisted sicko who is interested in (and actually looking forward to) checking this out? It's been banned in the UK, there's apparently a full-on scene of non-simulated fellatio, and most of the stuff that goes down is allegedly legit. I just read an interview with the director, Adam Rehmeier, in Fangoria magazine and one of the Q&A is as follows:

Quote:
FANGORIA: The scene where Bunny gets branded---that was real, wasn't it?

REHMEIER: Yeah, everything in the film is real, except the drug use. That was the only thing we couldn't jeopardize. I would not have been too opposed to it, but that's the kind of thing where it would have been taking it a little bit too far. If we did get busted by the police, Jeff [Renfro, the male lead] could have lost his truck over having cocaine.
In a side-bar, smaller interview with Rodleen Getsic (who portrays Bunny herself), the follow exchange occurs:

Quote:
FANGORIA: Was there a point where you wanted to say, "Stop, this is going too far"?

GETSIC: We decided not to do that. We decided to let it go where it needed to go, and that's why we get to some very difficuly, dark places in the film. When I did this movie, I was sure it was the hardest thing I had gone through in my life, and I did it for the sake of art.

FANGORIA: How much of the abuse was actually real?

GETSIC: All the torture, the branding---the whole experience was real. I'm sure for any normal person it would be very painful, but I have a high threshold for pain. I put myself into a meditative state doing the movie; I fasted for 40 days prior and did deep, deep meditation to put myself in a state of mind where I could handle high amounts of pain.
I'm curious how much (if any) of this is real and how much is bullshit "publicity" to generate interest in the movie. I'll definitely be picking this up when it drops at the end of the month.

I'm interested in getting it eventually too. There was a thread for this here where it was being discussed, but I suppose it must have gotten lost a couple months back. Do post your thoughts on it if you do pick it up.

Ahh, that explains why I search didn't yield any results. I've been trying to put "the great server crash of 2012" out of my mind.

Well, now we have another for anyone interested in discussions. I will definitely post my thoughts when it comes out.

It's been on my list of movies to eventually get, I just don't care about spending $20 for it now.

Just watched this now, pretty much a snuff film. I really don't see how this movie would be worth owning with all those torture scenes.
BD Wishlist: Grandma's Boy, Splendor in the Grass, Ginger Snaps Trilogy, That Night, Roman Holiday.

There's a completely unrelated movie called The Brown Bunny that's also known for a non-simulated fellatio scene. Something about bunnies and BJ's. I haven't seen either film.

I wasn't all that impressed by this one. I need to revisit it though as it's been several years since I watched it. The criterion edition of Salo is pretty great though and probably the better option than the import. Audition doesn't look all that great, but is another decent pick up. Martyrs has no US release, so you'll have to pick up the Region A Canadian release or the Region B UK release. I've owned both and they are more or less identical if I recall correctly. (Currently only own the Region A release).
Wanted To Buy:
-Sword in the Stone Slip Cover ($7 Shipped)
-Robin Hood (Disney) (Slip Cover) ($7 Shipped)
(Will Pay $15 Shipped if One Person can send Both Slip Covers)
-Black Blu Ray Cases (Price Negotiable)

I had never heard of it.

Found it by roundabout music listening. The actress played on a song(in a video) of a Grateful Dead song. When the bandmates were listed...the name caused a Google search.

Shockingly(if you saw my purchase history...not really) the movie was on like page 11 of recommended on Amazon...
