I believe this is licensed by Olive from Bavaria Films. The HD transfer and restoration work they did on "Despair" was top notch, so this bodes well for this release.
Robert Fischer also did the excellent special feature for Despair titled "Cinema and its Double".

This is an excellent film. It will be very interesting to see how it looks because a while ago I saw it during an Aldrich retrospective on the Left Bank and the print was definitely problematic. I don't know if the French organizers could not get a better one or if it was simply the best one, but the Blu-ray should answer a lot of questions.
Monty70, I also do not know anything about Bavaria Films restoring it. Thanks for the info Pro-B |

This oughta hold me over until Warner or Paramount or whoever decides to release Seven Days in May.

I owned this on Laserdisc for years & years. A great movie.
Warner's had this for years and just sat on it & sat on their dumb behinds doing NOTHING!!! Glad WB lost the rights, otherwise we'd never see it. |

Guess they don't want a film examining the false pretenses under which we go to war to come out right before the election.

Yeah. It's too bad that you are legally required to get rid of your DVDs whenever you buy a Blu-ray.
