December 11th release!

Wow!!
A beloved film from the 80s!
i hope it has a wonderful restore, both video and sound because this film deserves it with its beautiful landscapes and beautiful music by Basil Poledouris!!

I've never seen this but I am aware the DVD had a good selection of extra features with 2 commentaries and making off.

I always thought Blue Lagoon would look great on Blu-ray. It's not a title I wanted badly since I already had the DVD so it's going on my "to buy later" list. Someone mentioned the film's score - I'm starting to think Twilight Time only picks titles that have decent scores to license. It would make sense since they seem to be audio-enthusiasts first, film enthusiasts second.

I suspect they are trying to break into the film releasing market with this venture. I believe they have at least on BD without an isolated score thus far.

Poledouris has a HUGE following in the film score aficionado community, better known there simply as "Basil," where he is revered nearly as much as "Jerry" (Goldsmith). Just have a look at the Film Score Monthly forum sometime. BLUE LAGOON is a very highly regarded title in Basil's oeuvre. So, pretty safe to this say this will not be a Twilight Time title sans isolated score.

Since it is a Columbia title too, it's possible that we will have English subtiltes (for any internatioanl customers like myself).
All the Fox ones don't have any subtitles.. :-(

Well, it's the company's policy.
Every Bluray release of them is limited to 3000 copies.. I'm not sure why..
But if you look at the titles (except for some exceptions like "As Good As it gets"), you won't find any films that would have a high demand among the public, like eg. Transformers, Avatar and things like that..

and this shows from the fact, that no title of theirs (I think), has been sold out..

3,000 has been the standard model for limited edition soundtrack albums - incuding those from FSM (which are exclusively distributed by SAE) for well over a decade. This model has simply been transferred over to their blu-ray releases.

Yes, Screen Archives is a soundtrack specialist first and BD/DVD studio second.

About a month before the release date, it goes up on the ScreenArchives.com site. Currently Twilight Times only sales outlet.

I've also got The Egyptian, Desiree and Demetrius and the Gladiators.
The first 2 seem exceptional transfers..

I would have got much more, if my wallet permitted..

Because, it is after all 80s, and maybe it is more popular in comparison with old films..
