Hmmm...so Shout Factory has a deal with Paramount, now? Is this the beginning of something special, or a one shot deal?

Small labels such as SF mostly uses the masters that studios gives them.In this case,Paramount.I think it will look (really) good as Paramount usually does a pretty good job with its catalogue stuff

Good question.I assume it's a deal that includes a few other movies as well.

Btw, I'm surprised that Olive hasn't picked up The Duellists.

I'm glad SF got it - might mean they port over the extras.

This year keeps getting better. If we could just get confirmation of the rumoured releases of GET CARTER and MARATHON MAN, I'd be one happy consumer.

Great news - I had a thread for this over in the wishlist section. I'm so happy to see this one coming as its one of my favorite Ridley Scott films. Great wave of catalog titles here lately.
Lloyd C. Cramden: Flint, How do you find time to read all these books?
Derek Flint: No, no, no, sir, I wrote those.

I had mentioned in another thread that, while it's great that Olive Films and Criterion are releasing older Paramount titles, I fear that many of their 80s and 90s stuff will never get released. Lionsgate even had a deal with them a while back (Hard Rain, Drop Zone, The Relic, etc.) but that seems to have expired.

In other words, I hope this is the beginning of something special.

I bought the DVD years ago, finally watched it about 2 months ago. It would be a shame if Shout Factory couldn't port over the DVD extras. Paramount did a really good job on it for such a 'small' movie.

This is a stunningly beautiful film. The DVD looks pretty good if I remember correctly, so the HD master should be ok.

Made my day.

The dvd being out of print is what kept me from buying it before I got a bluray player....so I'm glad it's coming out on blu ray.

I wonder what other titles SF acquired from Paramount,if these companies has indeed struck ongoing licensing arrangement.
The Parallax View? The Shootist?Naked Gun sequels?Seconds?(Another OOP title).

We only acquired two (well, four) films from Paramount - THE DUELLISTS and the three WALKING TALL films.

If that's all you got, I'm glad you got The Duellists. That's one that I've been coming on here everyday hoping to see some kind of announcement.
