Pre-order is up! Never caught this in theaters, but if the 3D is as good as the third it shouldn't be too bad.

I thought the movie was meh, but the 3d was fantastic!! very strong 3d and a ton of popouts. I bet it's gonna be a reference disc for sure

Best parts of the movie were Scrat

Its strange that 3D can take a "meh" movie, by your example, and make it totally enjoyable! I actually love that about 3D. It gives me a wider selection of material that I probably wouldn't even give a chance without it.

Well, the movie might've been less enjoyable because I was the only one in the 3d screening at one of the big movie theaters near me lol.

Have to think really hard if I really want to get this one, even for a 3D fix. Probably wouldn't want to watch it at home more than once.

IMO, The movie was actually boring. 3D was fine, but the story lacked humor, nothing intelligent for adults, and it seemed that the story was really just a desperate attempt to make a sequel.

i.e. Cash-in on the name.

watched this yesterday and felt that the movie was a lot of fun, nothing new we have seen before but had some good humor and 3D was well done. I will surely buy this when the price hits sub $20s for my Ice Agc collection.

Thanks for the reviews. The 3D sounds promising, though I'll admit I couldn't get into the first movie, though I felt the same way about Madagascar and saw Madagascar 3 3D, which was good with really good 3D.

I agree this movie has fantastic 3D... but the movie was just ( In my opinion ) so boring.

I didn't think the 3-D was quite as strong as in Dawn of the Dinosaurs, which I also saw in the theatre and own on 3-D Blu. But the 3-D was still quite good, and I look forward to trying it out on my TV.

Even though I do agree with other posters that the story didn't quite measure up to the previous installments (although none of the sequels come close to measuring up to the first, IMO), it still did have a few moments. And I have a fondness for these characters born of familiarity going on a decade, now; so I'll probably pick it up assuming it's a decent price. That fondness is the advantage that Madagascar 3 didn't have, coupled with a few scenes which actually turned me off that movie; which is why I skipped buying that one recently, despite the excellent 3-D.

Best Buy has one of the previous Ice Age 3D movies for 20 bucks when I was there the other day.

I know. I probably wouldn't have even really started getting into the animated movies had it not been for 3D. Now they are my favorites, and I can watch them over and over like a little kid lol.

Sorry to hear people are saying bad things about Continental Drift. I missed it in the theater so I don't know. Been looking forward to buying it. I love Dawn Of The Dinosaurs.

I know Amazon lowered their price to $24.99 but Best Buy has some exclusive "A Mammoth Christmas 3D" disc. Did anybody see that on TV before? Is it worth extra $5?

I think Best Buy will also be selling the 3D version without the Christmas Special for just $24.99 as well.

The USA version of this is 7.1 audio, the UK version on the back of the slip

Yes, A Mammoth Christmas is definitely worth $5. It's a very good Christmas short. I've only seen the first two Ice Age films, but I would say the short is better than both of those. Just my opinion
