Arrow Rashomon November 6, 2012

The Criterion Collection is releasing Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece, Rashomon, on November 6, 2012. To say that this is exciting news would be an understatement.

Most anticipated release: The Hidden Fortress

I would love Throne of Blood but there hasn't exactly been a samurai shortage this year.

I'll take more AK/Mifune anytime but they could give the swordplay a bit of a rest.

I definitely want The Hidden Fortress as I think it's my fav. Kurosawa/Mifune collaboration. Granted, I do change my favs all the time, but it's definitely in my top 3

I missed the 4K restoration 35mm print that got released a few years back, but seeing the trailer for the release, my jaw was on the floor - this should look incredible in hidef. Criterion certainly took their time releasing this.

Rashomon is an all time great, IMHO better than Hidden Fortress, High and Low, Yojimbo, Ran, Kagemusha and Throne of Blood.

This took way too bloody long, given that they've had a restoration ready to go for years now. Glad it's finally coming out.

This should coincide perfectly with B&N's 50% sale in November too (assuming they still do 2 a year )

Good timing indeed! This is my favorite Kurosawa film and can't wait to watch it in HD!

I could have sworn this was out already, but I must be thinking of the DVD.

I'll get it for 50% off plus member discount (plus some coupons as well, hopefully) for sure.
