Hope the USA edition is released at same time as Canada. Why have the studios been so quiet about the release of Von Ryan's Express? Glad it has an official release date. Now, still waiting for The Great Escape.

Yikes, what hideous artwork. Why didn't they use the art from the Collector's Edition DVD? I can always just swap the discs and use the DVD case but, still...

Anyway, day 1 purchase for me (before if I can find it early )

Well, I have a copy of the Blu-ray of VON RYAN'S EXPRESS that was released in France,

And, although it's better looking than Fox's 2007 "Cinema Classics Collection" DVD (the subtitles for instance are no longer part of the print but superimposed video), the transfer is far from perfect. Just hope that Fox releases a picture transfer better than this, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. If it's the same transfer, I expect much complaining.

The re-mastered PATTON gets a new Blu-ray release on November 6th too. I'll keep my fingers crossed on that as well.

Fox generally locks catalog titles. There were quite a few upset UK folks when it was discovered that The Last of the Mohicans is region A locked.
