I'm curious about the Limited Edition for Seasons 1 and 2 -- is it just a fancy slipbox housing the first two seasons? or something more special?

It says on Amazon that it'll be region "B". Any chance that that might be true this time?

Has anyone seen the Limited Edition box set of Seasons 1 and 2? Is it just a repackage of the original in a slipbox? or something more special?

Yea, theres a very light embossing where it says Downton Abbey seasons 1&2
on the slipbox.

I think its a very nice package for a decent price

this has now dropped to $30.94 on Amazon!

Been very curious about this show and have been waiting for either major price drops on each season or something like this - a very classy limited case with both seasons at a good price. Also grabbed one for my Mom, should make a pretty nice Christmas present for all but $30 total

It looks like the two season set does not include the Christmas Special (end of Season 2)

It's a five disc set. Season 1 was 2 discs and Season 2 was 3 discs.

I would suggest that before you buy this, to read some feedback on Amazon about these. Some say that the picture qaulity is not as good as either the UK or PBS versions even though PBS versions are 1080i. Might be why they are less expessive.

You are quite mistaken. It's even advertised on the synopsis blurb on the back cover.

To clarrify- The limited Editions is the one I'm talking about.
Season three hasn't even been on PBS yet.....

Looking forward to this - I just watched the first two seasons last month. I'm all caught up except for the Christmas episode which I figured I would wait until Christmas to watch. I guess series 3 is going on in the UK now.

Jeez. The price for the Season 1 + 2 set has been ping ponging dramatically in the last two days. From $45 down to $30 to $36 to $32. Now at $43. It's like they can't make up their mind.

Thats good , I already have seasons 1 & 2 plus the Christmas Special seperatly , this new set is probably cheaper in total.
