I believe WB mentioned that Vol 2 won't be released until next year. Only Vol 2 of the Looney Tunes Collection is being released this year. I'll see if I can find where that info was posted.

I mailed Jerry Beck a couple of months ago.

He said "2013".

If they continue with the same speed when we will have the full collection in our hands 2016?

I think it has to do with Mouse Cleaning. Because the original negative was found and it is being restored for Volume 2. I imagine that is what is taking up time.

I know I didn't just make up that release date, I could have sworn I saw it on here. I don't go to any other site for Blu-Ray news.

You're not making it up. I remember seeing it on here, somewhere, also but information was eventually posted stating that it wouldn't get a release until 2013. I can't remember exactly where the original info was posted and it may have since been deleted.

You're not crazy

We posted a news item but took it down soon after when Vol. 2 was delayed significantly to 2013. The news item didn't include any details other than the release date, so it was easier to take it down than to update the post with news of a year-long delay. Sorry for any confusion!

I wouldn't mind a release for Vol 2 in Q2 of 2013 and Vol 3 in Q4.

It took three volumes on DVD to finish Tom and Jerry. Safe to assume the same number to finish on Blu-ray?

They released four volumes on DVD. 3 with Hanna Barbera shorts and 1 with Chuck Jones shorts. Of the 163 T&J shorts around 15 weren't released in those sets.

Only 37 shorts was released on the first Blu-Ray set, which means they would need 4.5 sets to release everything. Jerry Beck has said the reason the first set had only had 37 shorts was because the restoration of short 38 (Mouse Cleaning) was not finished. Hopefully this means that we'll get more shorts per set from now on and that everything is released by set 4.

Ah, I forgot about the Jones shorts. Any plans to include the 61-62 shorts or do they have the rights to those?

Those are the Gene Deitch shorts and Warner owns those too. But, you'll be happy to know that according to Jerry Beck on one of his appearences on Stu's Show, both the Gene Deitch and Chuck Jones will also be included in the Golden Collections.

Can't wait to own Vol 2, Vol 1 was really great , it's amazing to see how Tom/Jerry evolved thru the years yet still remain at war with each other.

Lets hope that's the case, cos the box art says 42
