Cool! I'll pick this up, but there's quite a few Judy Garland movies I'd prefer to see on Blu Ray. Summer Stock and The Pirate please!

Great news! I have to admit I'm disappointed, though, that: a) the cover is so plain, and b) this isn't a digibook. I was hoping the big three (for me, at least) non-Oz Judy Garland musicals would all receive digibooks: Meet Me in St. Louis, Easter Parade, and A Star is Born. Ah, well. I'm just glad to own it in HD and with all the extras ported over. Hopefully Summer Stock isn't far behind.

Wouldn't mind a Classic Musicals from the Dream Factory set, with Summer Stock and The Pirate!

When I first saw the package photo a few days ago, I was thrilled that it wasn't a digibook. I always fear that this preliminary photo could be wrong and that we may get stuck with one of those grossly overpriced chunks of pressed paper.

But here's hoping it truly isn't a digibook and let's hope this signals a new era of Warner Brothers re-thinking that goofy, expensive book scam.

and as you think its a 'scam' to issue a DigiBook, I think its a'scam' to issue ANY BD in those cheap eco cases that bend like mad in the shipping....I'll take a DigiBook, pay more and get more info about the film!!

From the DVD Beaver review:
Quote:
Unfortunately we lose the magnificent Garland documentary although the commentary and other extras on the 2-disc are still here.
So folks might want to hold onto the DVD. Also, as he notes, and one can gather from the screens, the image doesn't seem at first like a significant upgrade, but that's only because the 2-disc SE looked so good. Can't wait to watch (and hear!) this one. Here's hoping more Astaire (with Rogers!) is in the works.

No digibook, or at least a slipcover? just a plain Bluray case for this gem??

Oh well, anyway...
I'll sure buy this nonetheless!

My copy arrived from Amazon today. I'm guessing I received the Canadian disc in my case, as it's missing the American Masters Judy Garland documentary. It is listed as one of the special features on the back of the case. I read a review that the US version contains the documentary, but the Canadian and UK versions do not. Did anyone else get the US version yet who can confirm that documentary is there?

"I ordered Easter Parade through an American video distributor so I am blessed to report that this disc contains the American Masters documentary on Judy Garland ‘By Myself’. U.K. and Canadian discs do not, presumably because PBS has denied the rights for distribution outside of the United States.". http://nixpixdvdmoviereviewsandmore....48-warner.html

I liked this one, but not as much as Singin' in the Rain. I'll grab it when it gets cheap.
