Default All Superheroes Must Die (January 29, 2013)

Another superhero movie! This one is a low budget, direct-to-video:

All Superheroes Must Die Blu-ray

All Superheroes Must Die Blu-ray review

Quote:
Four superheroes awaken in a seemingly abandoned town, stripped of their powers and at the mercy of their sinister arch-nemesis who forces them into a series of brutal challenges — where the stakes include the lives of the innocent, as well as their own.

I saw this a few weeks back. I think it's a good watch I'd you're a fan of the Trost brothers (I loved The FP), but I can recognize it would turn a lot of people off. It's got some great ideas, but I think it may have been a case of ideas exceeding budget.

I just got through with this. It was beyond wretched. Even the cover art is all wrong. The wrong eye is covered and there wasn't one helicopter or skyscraper in the film.

I was curious to check it out, but the lack of known actors killed my interest.

I watched this a few hours ago. All I have to say is, I'm glad I didn't blind buy this for $20 Not even Lucas Till could save it.

The film is extremely low budget. Each location looks cheap as hell. It's trying to rip off the SAW movies but at least with those, there's a reason why the characters are in traps and even those unknown actors can actually act. These guys just sit there quiet with bags over their heads waiting to be blown up, because that's the only thing the villain knows how to do, apparently.

Everything in this movie is just ridiculous. It almost reaches "so bad it's good" status but falls short.

I guess since the budget is only $20k, they'll only have to sell 1,000 DVDs or blu-rays on release week and they'll make that back.

I'm so bummed out by all the bad reviews. It seemed like a really good idea, I still want to see it, maybe there is something in it I can enjoy.

I thought it was pretty good. The acting was decent enough and it's low-budget, no-frills nature added quite a bit of charm, at least for me. It kind of reminded me of the old-school beat-em-up video games where you would make your way through a level, trying to rescue civilians (or in this instance, trying to save them and then watching them blow up) and then fight a boss at the end. Totally worth the $15 I paid for it.

From the review: and Charge (Trost), whose power is never defined, but he is the leader and chief strategist.

[Show spoiler]Charge never had any superpowers to begin with. He pretend to so he could be around Shadow.
That's a pretty deep idea for such a cheaply made superhero movie, in my opinion anyway.

The review was phrased that way to avoid a "reveal" that comes well into the movie. I have added spoiler tags to your post.
