Default Tristana (Luis Buñuel)

Another title on the way from the Cohen Film Collection in 2013 is Luis Buñuel’s Tristana which has been recently restored.

Man,this is awesome news! For some reason,i always thought Criterion got this one.
Btw,are you 100% sure Tristana is coming to Blu next year?I couldn't find nothing about this news, neither on Cohen Media page, nor anywhere else.

From Cohen's Facebook page:

Q: "Will Tristana be getting a DVD/Blu-Ray release?"
Cohen: "Yep. Stay tuned. Lots of very special extras, both on the disc and in the booklet."

AWESOME NEWS !!!!!!! Tristana may not be my favorite Bunuel but it sure as hell is "major" Bunuel. The restoration looks wonderful and the care they put is equally stunning. Really glad this isn't Criterion would have take them until 2018 to get it out .

I hope this means Viridiana isn't too far off either.

Viridiana is with Criterion so who knows. It doesn't seem like a priority for them .

It would be great to see some of Bunuel's Mexican films get a high quality release one of these days.

This is great news - I've been interested in seeing Tristana for some time, but the DVD releases were reportedly lackluster, so I waited.

Cohen Media Group with their Cohen Film Collection seems to be modeling themselves after Criterion. They use the clear cases like Criterion, not the usual blue Blu-ray cases.

it says on their page that they have restored Thief of Bagdad from 1924.
I would assume that will also get released on dvd/blu-ray some time next year maybe.

All of this is great news, in terms of interest in the titles being released. I've never heard of this distributor so I await reports of A/V quality and possible extras packages.

I have long hoped for this to come out from Criterion, however as long as a superior presentation is released, that is fine.
