I'm sorry but you would think that a better known series would've made it on blu first, and it's a third party release

the article says Classic Media is releasing it, and they are a legitimate label.
they released the Rankin/Bass Christmas specials, so this release will be fine imo.
here's the amazon pre-order link--

Classic Media has been a fine distributor on Blu-ray to date. What shocks me is how this particular show made it to BD. Do they think it's 2001 and anything put out as a release will sell? I'm just not seeing the potential market and I love vintage cartoons.

What is shocking to me is that I never even knew or heard about this show

As for why they would release this over other shows, like someone else said Michael Jackson! It may sell.

Well I watched this and the Osmond's when I was a child and loved them. I'll be buying this to watch with my grandchildren. Bring on the Osmond's and how about H.R. Puffinstuff

There was in the 70's and none of the Jackson's voices were used.

Thanks for the info.
The Diana Ross's voice seemed like hers though in the extract above..

As Michael Jackson is my favorite artist, this is a no brainer for me

In addition, "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" is with Shout Factory and they are planning a Complete Series collection that was due last year but got delayed so we should be seeing it in 2013 on DVD.

the reason this is coming from Classic Media is apparently they have Rankin/Bass rights.

This show has some notoriety as having one of the worst laugh tracks ever used on a TV series.

Unfortunately I think most of Sid & Marty Krofft's works were shot on video. I know Land of the Lost definitely was.

this show could be awesome for the right price, like maybe under 20 dollars considering how I like everything motown, or remastered motown

Is it confirmed that the actual Jackon's voices are used on this series? It would suck if it was voiced by generic studio talent. Also, does Michael Jackson look like he did before he had the Yoko Ono look-a-like plastic surgery?

Other than featuring songs by the Jackson 5, the brothers were not at all involved with the series.

The show was made in 1971, when Michael was 13.

This show was a hit when it was on TV and even in syndication.

Some of the voices of the show were done by some of the singers of a "rival" Soul kid group The Sylvers. Not having the Jacksons voice the show doesnt and didnt hurt its popularity.

This is no brainer and folks should worry about why another 'classic' wasnt chosen. That really has nothing to do with it. Its a classic cartoon w/ a built in audience.

The stories are silly but the classic Jackson 5 songs of their earliest albums is the hook.
