Looks like Warner Bros. will be releasing a 5-disc Hats off to Dr. Seuss boxset in February that will contain the five animated TV specials previously released on Blu-ray:

I wonder if any of those are NEW features not on the indivudual sets ?
I do notice they are selline the blu ray and DVDs separately now. Each set has 5 discs each. I have all the indiviudal sets, and each of those is a blu ray AND DVD together except for the Grinch BLu ray. So it is actually a but cheaper to buy the individual releases if you want both BLus and DVDs. |

I'd buy it, but I have all of these already. Still waiting on a release of The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat.

I haven't gotten any of the individual releases, but I like the Dr. Seuss shorts that I've seen, so I'd definitely get this for a good price.

My guess is they are including the Exact same blu ray discs from the 5 individual sets with the same extras.
So this appear to be a repackaging of the discs, except now they are selling the blu rays and the DVDs separately. It also looks like you lose the ultra violet digital copy that appears on the individual release of the Lorax blu ray/dvd pack. I would also like to see the 3 other shorts that appear on the "SEUSS celebration" DVD that have not appear on the 5 Seuss BLu ray deluxe edition so far. We are missing :Grinch Night and The grinch grinches the cat and the hat) Last edited by JJBerning; 11-11-2012 at 04:28 PM. |

Still, I didn't buy the Grinch and Lorax individually since they were each so insanely overpriced solo, so, like the Charlie Brown specials, I'll sit tight and wait until it hits an Amazon sale. May take a while.

I guess it's five discs so they can justify charging $60 for this.

the individual releases include BOTH DVD and BLU and can be purchase for closer to $10-$12 each. that is about $50-$60
This new release sells the BLUs and DVD separately for closer to $80. Not a good deal at all for anyone with kids that might acually appreciate and use the DVD and BLU both. I personally purchased several of the individual release used but like new for $7-$8on Amazon. Again, this is a terrible deal if you are interested in having copies of the Blus AND the DVDs both. |

I have all of them except The Lorax. I didn't anticipate a box set coming so I bought the individual releases as they came out. I still got good deals on them so I don't think I will lose out much price wise and for what its worth I think the packaging on the individual releases are nicer.
I would recommend this box set to people who haven't got any of the prior releases and enjoy these short films or to anyone who hasn't seen them but enjoyed any of the recent live action adaptations for these are (while not perfect) much better. |

$50 bucks for a 5 disc set which totals 132 minutes, ouch. They just shouldve made a 1 disc set with that much content

There are 132 minutes in the features, and 2 hours of bonus standard def. shorts. THe total is more than 4 hours.. but that still could have easily been on 2 blu-rays! |
