Silver Linings Playbook is an American romantic comedy-drama film directed by David O. Russell, from a screenplay by Russell, adapted from the novel The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick. The film stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, with Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Chris Tucker, Anupam Kher and Julia Stiles in supporting roles.

Bradley Cooper plays Pat Solitano, a man with bipolar disorder who is released from a psychiatric hospital and moves back in with his parents (Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver). Determined to win back his estranged wife, Pat meets recently-widowed sex addict Tiffany Maxwell (Jennifer Lawrence). She tells Pat that she will help him get his wife back if he enters a dance competition with her. The two become closer as they train and Pat, his father, and Tiffany examine their relationships with each other as they cope with their disorders.

Me and the wife got screening passes and saw this Monday night from gofobo.

Awesome film. Jennifer Lawrence is amazing in it, Cooper holds his own, and the movie is funnier than you might think. Day 1 buy for me.

Man is Jennifer Lawrence gorgeous lol

Just saw it tonight. Kept my expectations low because I didn't want it to be ruined by the hype, plus I don't care for romantic comedies. It was really good, though it's more of a drama with a little humor and some romantic comedy elements. Formulaic but satisfying, with excellent acting, editing, directing, and some interesting cinematography. I'd give it an 8.5. Don't see myself watching it often so I'll probably wait till it's under $10 to buy it.

I saw this today and it was a great movie. Jennifer Lawrence was so great in the movie, I will definitely buy this when it comes out.

Movie was great - really enjoyable despite leaning on plenty of genre tropes towards the end. Just goes to show that you can make a decent rom-com if you really try. Definitely worth a blind-buy for those who missed it.

Also, Jennifer Lawrence... wow.

FYI price just went back down to $27.99, FWIW.
I'm sure this will be right around $19.99 come release day, though.
