Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced and detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of Lee Toland Krieger's romantic comedy Celeste and Jesse Forever (2012), starring Rashida Jones, Andy Samberg and Elijah Wood. Street date is February 5th.

I'm kind of surprised Sony is giving this a BD release, but they're skipping Robot & Frank on blu. That said, I am looking forward to this, and I'll pick it up when the price is right.

Just saw this, and I'm not going to lie but I believe Rashida Jones deserved a best actress nomination and maybe best original screenplay as well.

Difference of opinion. It didn't change my desire to watch the movie.

Masssssssssive disappointment for me. Decent soundtrack. Rashida Jones is an amazing actress, but the characters felt flat, the ending felt rushed and it just.. didn't seem to really go anywhere.

People probably didn't like it because for once here is a movie where a relationship disintegrates because of the female's attitude and mind-games type actions. People in modern day really only seem to find it acceptable that males are the ones made to look like the antagonist in a falling-apart relationship.

Saw this a couple of weeks ago and haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

My thoughts:

I loved this. I thought it was very truthful. It's quite humorous but also sad and hopeful. Rashida Jones is just superb here. The best she's ever been. She's a huge reason the movie works so well. I also really liked Andy Samberg, Chris Messina, and Elijah Wood. I loved that they weren't afraid to show Celeste as a flawed individual. Even when she hit rock bottom I still felt for her. I thought there were some great moments here. Highly enjoyed this film!

A friend of mine is recently divorced and having a hard time with it as she still has feelings for her ex. I'll definitely recommend this film to her.

8/10 (A-)

May bump it up to a 9/10 when I see it again.

I Really enjoyed this movie, watched it earlier this evening and it really hit home as I'm currently going through an extreme rough patch since a horrendous breakup...
