Glad to see this finally getting a US release. It was released in the UK last year as a Play.Com exclusive. Haven't heard too much about it.
I'm a pretty big fan of Miike though in general, so I'm sure I'll probably check it out. |

I watched it in 3D, but the 3D was so subtle that you could barely tell. Seemed a bit pointless.
Bloody, yes, but quite restrained considering the director. The UK disc is region free and is not a play.com exclusive anymore. But there are no extras and the coverart is godawful. |

Edit: Ugh, never mind. The UK version was part of the "2 for £12" deal on Zavvi when I had looked before, but I'd put off ordering because I'd already spent too much money last month. Now they're not listing it at all. Last edited by arcane93; 01-03-2013 at 12:26 PM. |

DVDTalk has a review up, and they say that the 'discussion' featurette is less than 2 minutes long! That's the only bonus on there.
Considering the vast extras on the Japanese disc (documentary, interviews, premiere footage, trailers, and more), and having both the 3D and 3D versions, the US and UK releases are more like a joke. Last edited by manicsounds; 01-18-2013 at 11:25 AM. |
