Interested to see if both of the movies will have the same transfer as the HK Fortune Star releases or if it will be new transfers.

Chances are that it will probably be the same as the HK releases...

Is Michelle Yeoh in one of these? I remember seeing some scenes of her and Jackie Chan in a movie together and I think it was Police Story, but I'm not sure.

Michelle Yeoh is in the third movie.

It's strange that they are only releasing the first two and not the full trilogy. I already have the Asian releases and while they are not perfect I will be sticking with those since it won't include the third movie with Michelle Yeoh

Police Story III: Supercop's North American rights reside at Miramax and was retitled simply to Supercop under the Dimension label. The film was also truncated and features a new English soundtrack with Jackie Chan's own voice. Echo Bridge now has home video rights to this property the United States.

Police Story IV: First Strike's North American rights reside at New Line and was retitled Jacke Chan's First Strike. This film was also truncated and features a new English soundtrack with Chan's voice. Warner now has home video rights to this property in NA and some parts of Asia.

I see thanks, different rights issues on them. Never seen the North American version but I have heard from many just how badly they were cut.

Thanks! I'll have to look into tracking down the third film and will probably also get this one if it's not just dubbed.

This is great! I've been looking for a gateway to Jackie Chan's movies, and judging from the clips on YouTube, this looks like the one. Can't say no to the price, either.

Annoyingly so :-(

I will never understand the need for Miram-axe to butcher Asian releases..

At least put the original on the BD/DVD also!

Universal does this too though.. Gen Y cops (while not great by any means) was released dubbed only.. and pan and scan only .. just to pour salt in i suppose.

As a first time viewer of these films, is it recommended to watch the subtitled version or the dubbed one? I'm betting the subtitled version but just wanted to check with established fans of the films. Thanks in advance guys!

New HD transfers with the original English dubs and extra footage from the Japanese releases please, Shout Factory. We can but wish, imagine we will end up with the horrid Fortune Star upscales and foley 7.1 tracks. Yuk!
