Tabu Blu-ray REVIEW
This is an extraordinary film! Anyone with even a tiny bit of interest in European/World Cinema should run to order a copy. It is everything I love about cinema And a great looking Blu-ray from New Wave Films. TRAILER http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=9639 Pro-B

I've been really looking forward to seeing this film. It would be nice to see it get a US release, but even if that comes to pass it will more than likely be more expensive than importing this one - and would probably have a lesser supplemental package to boot.
This is going into the Amazon UK basket for a potential future order. |

Very interesting looking film, thanks Pro-B for leading me to this film from the Criterion thread, otherwise I never would have found this, shall I say gem? A blind buy has never failed me yet!
Again thanks!!!

I used them last week to order Tabu BD and Mysteries of Lisbon DVD. They're prompt - ordered Weds night, got it Sat morning with the snow. They use worldpay merchants, so they probably charge for pre-orders.

Although I've got most of the Blu-rays, there are a couple I want, so I will take advantage of this offer. I might also see which of the DVDs I'm after
I plan to watch Tabu this weekend, so can't wait

I just really, really liked this film. It has the right tempo for my taste (slow) and I thought that it was beautifully done (the concept is great and the acting wonderful). I hope that you and everyone else enjoy it as much as I did. Pro-B |

Watched the first 15 minutes online, decided that for £9.10 this was an easy "turn off streaming and buy" kind of film.
Cheers charnier. |

![]() Thank you for this. I ordered Tabu, Nostalgia for the Light, Le Quattro Volte, Elena, and Uncle Boonme....all for £40 what a bargain! Already have Anatolia and How I ended this summer and am blind-buying the above based on my love for these two films

Once again, a pleasure guys - and I figure that this is probably the closest way to buying from the label: VivaVerve is Verve Pictures's shop and Drakes Avenue is a subsidiary of Verve. If it's only selling Drakes Avenue and New Wave titles, then it suggests New Wave Films is affiliated in some way.
Gomes is definitely a director to watch out for - I really liked his Our beloved month of August which was put out by Second Run/Cinema Guild (DVD only). I might also spring for Nostalgia for the Light BD and Hadjewich next week. Last edited by charnier; 01-24-2013 at 12:32 PM. |
