I recently bought a used fullscreen version and $5 bin widescreen copy with other movies. Will gladly buy again on blu.highly doubt it will be uncut though.wasn't the uncut version only released in the UK on vhs?

Who is releasing it? Awesome news if it's someone OTHER than Echo Bridge or Mill Creek. This would be the 3rd time the film is released - each time it's been the same fullscreen transfer. Maybe it was shot in 1.33:1?

The UK DVD is anamorphic widescreen. Only the crap Us release was FS. So HOPEFULLY they will release the WS version. I am not aware of any FS blu ray releases (excluding stuff shot natively in 1.33) am i wrong?

Echo Bridge uses whatever they can get their hands on and for the most part, they are not willing to get new HD masters because of the cost, as they are a budget releaser. Because of the age of Fortress, it's not going to have an HD master that is of good quality and it certainly won't have a 5.1 audio track since it came out before Dolby Digital and likely hasn't been given any sort of remix. In short, the Blu won't be all the great given the factors in the equation.

I don't know why you guys are complaining about Echo Bridge/Mill Creek releasing this... you know, as opposed to Twilight Time (which "may" put out the uncut version, but in a slightly blue-tinted version without any notification, as well as expensive as hell and 2 to 3 times what MGM or any other company would charge for essentially a movie only release) or Image (check out their HILLS HAVE EYES blu-ray release).

Granted, Scream! or Synapse would have been better, but to judge Echo Bridge on their GAMERA and DAIMAJIN releases, I'm more than happy they will put it out. It will probably start at $10 and go down to $5.

Now let's see if anyone puts out DEATH MACHINE!

Can't say anything about a HD master, but the Spanish DVD I purchased a decade ago has DD 5.1 english, so the audio should be covered in that regard.

Ill get it and hope for the best...but keep the DVD in case the Blu Ray is in the wrong OAR...My faith in Echo Bridge is sketchy.
I bet they wind up with Fright Night II lol
I hope they can get a movie called To Die For ( the vampire movie )
