USA Sommersby (1993) - May 21, 2013

Quote:
Set in the south of the United States just after the Civil War, Laurel Sommersby is just managing to work the farm without her husband Jack, believed killed in the Civil War. By all accounts, Jack Sommersby was not a pleasant man, thus when he returns, Laurel has mixed emotions. It appears that Jack has changed a great deal, leading some people to believe that this is not actually Jack but an imposter. Laurel herself is unsure, but willing to take the man into her home, and perhaps later into her heart...

Me too. I think this one is underrated.

While I agree a whole slew of titles just got announced that are mostly crap titles, this one is actually a pretty nice release.

Just wish that it wasn't in late May.

I think Somersby is fine and I'm a huge Jodie Foster fan, however this is the big WB 90th Year and so far into the late spring early summer I'm not seeing great catalog titles. yes we have a few classics like Cabaret (which isn't truly a WB title)

IMO I don't see Somersby selling more than a Warner Archive title like Gypsy or Deathtrap. just interesting sometimes their picking of titles.
Stop the Replacing of original Studio Opening / Closing logos! These are becoming endangered and should be kept intact. They are part of film history.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it. Jef Mallett, Frazz

Frankly, Im suspicious of anyone who has a strong opinion on a complicated issue. Scott Adams, Dilbert
