Strictly Ballroom Blu-ray

Quote:
This wildly off-beat comedy is about a male dancer (Paul Mercurio) who refuses to follow the accepted rules of ballroom dancing and creates his own style of choreography, which infuriates the ballroom dancing establishment. Before he's scheduled to compete in the Pan-Pacific ballroom championships, he's forced to take up a new partner (Tara Morice), a beginner who initially seems without promise. With his help, she turns into an assured and wonderful dancer. Baz Luhrmann's visual style may be too bright, gaudy and exaggerated for some tastes, yet he treats his characters with compassion, which makes Strictly Ballroom such an engaging comedy.

Awesome, I guess I won't be seeing it for the my time on DVD. Hopefully I can nab this for under $10 before The Baz' latest movie.

A bit strange and gaudy, but still entertaining in a bizarre way.

It's not one I would invite all my friends to watch, "Shall We Dance?" is still a better choice, but I would enjoy it a time or two on bluray.

I'll snatch it if it's at a decent price.

Really good film, IMO. Saw it in the theater when I arrived too late for the film I had planned to see & was really glad I did. It was very funny. I own the DVD. The mother alone is worth the price.

It's $11.99. That's pretty decent.

Does it have a matching slip to the rest of the "trilogy?"
for (int i = wallet; wallet >= 0; wallet -= 50) {
if (typeBD == "Normal") collectionCount += 3;
if (typeBD == "Criterion" || typeBD == "Steelbook") collectionCount += 2;
if (typeBD == "OOP") collectionCount +=1;
if (typeBD == "U&S") collectionCount += 10;
if (typeBD == "Gross Anatomy") collectionCount += 50;
}

Oh yeah...that's very fair. I really admire Baz's style, and this does fit in nicely with Moulin Rouge. I'll grab it.
