I think the best way to play that angle off would be

RE4 was neither the best in the series nor was it even remotely scary. RE (original/remake) was the best in the series followed closely by RE2. RE3 was "okay" because despite being mainly action (as far as RE is concerned) the ambiance was right. RE:CV was pretty good because it provided a lot of story and the ambiance was still really creepy. Starting RE4 it just goes downhill.

My personal RE ranking is:
RE > RE2 > RE:CV >> RE3 >> RE4 >>> RE5

It's official, I will never get the "Don't Get Cocky" trophy. I played that section no less than 20 times in a row, and I had to stop before I vomited with rage.

No platinum trophy is worth ruining an otherwise fantastic game for eternity.

I'm going to shelf this one for a while now...
Hope I can revisit it again one day.

No no no no no.

I don't know if you missed the post or you thought I was kidding.

I'm serious...if it is frustrating you that much...have two beers and chill your way to the trophy.

That trophy is more about your mind than your hand eye coordination.

You can do this. What is the highest level you are able to keep it at???

Wait until tomorrow...try it again. If you are THAT pissed with it, then cap yourself to 5 tries a day or 5 tries every 3 hours. Once you get used to the losses and you are able to stay calm...you beat it.

We all want you to join the elite club on this one brother!!! There is a spot already reserved with your name on it!!!

+1

Seriously, this trophy really is more about relaxing and remaining calm. You almost certainly WILL NOT get the trophy if you are about to "vomit with rage". You need a clean slate and just relax and do it. The more twitchy and irritated you get the easier it becomes to mess up.

Also, a couple tips:
1) ONLY fire one cannon, not both, not even if you alternate. For some reason the gun almost never overheats with one gun even if you just leave it on 90% of the time. It should only overheat maybe 2 times using this method.
2) Focus only on the asteroids towards the center of your view. Do NOT "chase" asteroids that are going to the extreme sides. Otherwise, you loose too much time swinging the gun back that you miss asteroids coming straight at you. Also, it is much easier to hit asteroids toward the center of the screen anyway.
3) Prioritize asteroids coming straight at you. These do the most damage. Damage is related both to size and angle. Asteroids which hit you which are far off to the sides do minimal damage while direct hits can take off massive health. (this is another reason for #1)
4) If you fire your cannon straight down the center, the shot will illuminate asteroids you otherwise can't see in the far distance. So fire a shot or two RIGHT AWAY when the scene starts and you will see asteroids a second earlier because your shots will light them up.

Trust me, follow these tips and you will eventually get this. Especially if this is the only trophy left to Platinum it is worth it.

RE2 was the bees knees. RE was maybe better, but RE2 just sticks out to me for some reason.

The last two suck donky nuts. As far as the series goes, it stopped with RE3. RE4 and RE5 have NOTHING to do with the genre or story. Just piggybacking a new story and genre on a successful name.

Great tips on getting the "Don't Get Cocky" trophy. I remember getting very frustrated with that trophy playing in difficult mode. I replayed in easy mode and got it.

My advice is to start shooting the cannon down the center and left/right as soon as possible. This gives you a head start on the asteroids so you won't fall behind. Doing this and not overheating the cannon should do it. I was playing impossible mode (again) and had 61% left.

Sometimes I play Dead Space on a 24" computer monitor, and that makes the shooting easier as well. So maybe try a smaller screen.

I think that's the hardest trophy in the game. Hang in there and you'll get it.

Default Oh Waaaaait!!!!

If it's REALLY messing with you.

Turn the sound off and put some music on.

The guy telling you "just hang in there...one more minute" is to psyche you out and make you relax your efforts.

I recommend:

Slayer:
God Send Death
Disciple
Blood Red and of course
Angel of Death

Megadeth:
Holy Wars!!!

The ENTIRE Born to Expire album by LEEWAY

That should get you through it.

Oh yes...and beer.

Yeah I know that a lot of people like RE2 better. RE is probably just my favorite because it was the first and I have permanent memories of playing that in the dorms with a bunch of friends and all of us jumping and getting the **** scared out of us.

Errr I'm pretty sure that the cannon scenes are the same difficultly regardless or what difficultly you are playing on. That was purely psychological. =P

Also, I was the opposite about screen size. I play on my 50" and I stood like 5 feet from the screen to get mine. I was right up in there like it was IRL.

Funny, I played RE2 first, then RE then RE3...

Ha! Obviously the first taste of the scare juice is the best

Dead space gave me the creepies the first time. Now on impossible, it is frustrating, but not as scary.

Thanks for all the tips! I'll try it again this weekend, using your advice and encouragement to my advantage.

It's not my last trophy, but it would end up being the one holding me back from my platinum eventually. Still have to finish my One Gun playthrough and then my Impossible playthrough.

Thanks again!

So I am thinking about playing through the game again.. One thing though:
Is impossible to play a certain level over? If I need a trophy somewhere in the middle of the game it seems kinda extreme if I have to play for hours to get it?

Also: I have completed the game once, and I have a trophy for that.. So why is it that the hardest difficulty is hard when I choose a new game??
