Whoa, there's an outstanding bit of news that came out of nowhere.
And as floating head covers go that could have been a lot worse.

Olive's stuff doesn't count? I thought most of those are titles that Paramount has leased to Olive for distribution.

This is the first Warner/Paramount title that wasn't a straight ahead reissue that Paramount had already put out, right?
WBShop hinted on their FB page when asked that Flashdance (which turns 30 this year) and Mommie Dearest will be coming soon as well. |

No. The Great Gatsby (1974) is the first (April).

No, it's not a chick flick. The boot camp scenes are for chicks? I think it has about equal appeal to both sexes. Just because it's a drama and has romance in it doesn't make it a chick flick. A real chick flick movie would be Dirty Dancing, Phantom of the Opera (2004), or any of the Twilight Saga movies.
I've enjoyed this movie a few times but I'm not sure if I want to watch again (although it's almost worth sitting it through just for the awesome ending) If the price gets under $10 then I'll think about it. |

This is a quality flick! I haven't seen An Officer and a Gentleman in a couple of decades, but I taped it off of television during my VHS tape days in the 1980s, and loved it even as a kid. Louis Gossett Jr. is pure gold in this film.
I'm not sure if it merits a Blu-ray purchase, but I'd love to revisit this film at least once. |
