Best Buy The Wizard of Oz 3D MetalPak (Best Buy Exclusive)

Update 2: This will not be a Steelbook unfortunately, but rather a Metalpak. You can see pics in this post here: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.ph...5&postcount=40

The Official Wizard of Oz Facebook posted a picture of a Steelbook for the 3D release of the movie. No word on whether it's a retailer exclusive or not. I assume it'll be released the same day as the other 75th Anniversary editions (Oct. 1st)

I'm not really jiving on the art for the 3D 75th anniversary editions. This looks too... goofy.

I would have picked up the Canadian steelbook release, but that artwork is too... creepy.

I wish they used the Emerald Edition artwork, that would look really nice on a steel.

It's just every character's face looks so brain-dead.

And the title looks like a breakfast cereal.

... where's that ***** Toto?!

Wal-Mart's website lists an exclusive on the Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + UV edition, so this is probably the exclusive: a steelbook edition.

No embossment I guess. The title font/design seems to come from the theater production poster.

I might be tempted by this. I have the Canadian steelbook, and I'm interested to see what this looks like in 3D

I'm glad that I didn't get the bluray when they released the 70th anniversary edition back in 2009. Definitely in for the steelbook. I'm surprised that its including the 3d version

Both the Canadian steel, and this are region free, as are most titles from Warner (like 99.99% of them)

I thought it was strange for a title to be locked in this day and age, but both region coding sites I check have it listed as A Locked...even on here it only listed A

Anything that is untested automatically defaults to Region A in Region A areas. I've updated the page to reflect that it's region free.

You can also see in this review that it's been tested to be region free:

Yeah, that's definitely the classiest cover they could've gone with, and as such, I'll be holding on to my copy and pass on the steelbook. In fact, I think I'll bypass all of these because I'm finding 3D for Wizard of Oz sort of sacrilegious.

I thought i read on Instagram this version was coming out at the end of the year but now I'm stuck I don't know if to get the steel book or the box set. I already have this on a once disc Blu ray so if I was to buy it again it will have to be the steel book or the box set not both because it will be to much money and I really don't want this movie like 4 time even if it is my favorite.
