New Warner/DreamWorks movie (Sweeney Todd) - Blu-ray Forum

I got a flyer in local college newspaper for a movie with Jonny depp. It is directed by Tim Burton and it is being distributed by WB and Dreamworks? Isn't Dreamworks exclusive to Paramount?

i think dreamworks does the distribution here in the USA, so no sweeney todd for us.... yet!

Ive heard of this movie. Its a musical. Depp is supposed to play a murderer barber rofl. I think it should be good. Itd be funny if it comes out on both formats...but one of the two is bound to own distribution rights....damn....

Yes, this one will be region free on Blu-ray from the UK.

Talk is Depp is going to get an oscar nod for this from the early buzz on the movie.

we've heard of the "Warner effect" effect Audio/Video quality, well this is a positive side of the "Warner effect" just as they hold to the poor a/v quality they also hold on to the region free encoding for BD

movie looks kinda week, at least the trailer... but i got high hopes since its Burton/Depp i remember the old poems of sweeney todd from primary school so its kind of a treat to see a movie

The trailer for Sweeney Todd is actually on a BD that I watched recently. I think it was The Reaping but I don't remember for sure. Hopefully that's an indication that we'll be able to get this on Blu. Looks like it's going to be a pretty good flick

edit: That trailer could also have been on Transformers S-DVD that I rented. I'll check when I get home tonight.

the movie looks like absolute crap belonging on the red side....only pirates 1 was really a good movie with depp, and edward scissorhands and secret window were solid movies, combine him with a terrible plot, and sweeney todd is the result

And also this is based on a highly acclaimed Broadway Musical. The subject matter just begs to be adapted by Tim Burton. But saying that I have never seen it so I don't know if I would like it or not, but apparently plenty of people did like the musical.
