Yep. The cover art was pretty badass for that release too

I still have the original release from an Upgrade & Save. Haven't watched it yet, but will be without a doubt picking this up. So it goes when you buy more than you have time to watch. I recently put a hold on buying anything else until I watch what I have, we'll see how it goes.

Great news. I read about the extras, so I'm sure there's gonna be a double dip. My only complaint is that it's coming out the same month as Shinkenger on Blu-Ray (Japanese show Power Rangers Samurai came from). February 2014 is gonna be a good month.

Nice, I'll probably be picking this up since I love this film.

It's probably only getting a Criterion release due to it being a Wes Anderson film, but I'd like to think that this could mean more animated films will make their way to the label. There are many classic animated films that are more-or-less 'obscure' that need the BD treatment that I'm starting to lose hope on, and it'd be great if a label like Criterion could bring them to BD and give them the releases they deserve.

I didn't get any of this new "dual-format" at all, this would probably the first one, does anybody could confirm the size of the case? really hate if it'd be G1...

As I checked the thumbnail, it seemed G1... What a bummer...

Woohoo! This was my #1 choice for the Criterion treatment. Mostly to look nice with every other Wes Anderson film. But I also believe "Fantastic Mr. Fox" to be the funniest movie of all time.
Will pay stupid $$$ for:
Enchanted (Royal Wedding) Slipcover
.
Will pay reasonable $$$ for these slips:
Road to Perdition (Paramount 100th), There Will Be Blood (Gold AA), Wayne’s World 1&2 Double Feature, Casino Royale (Deluxe Edition), Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I like this movie, but I can't see myself double dipping even for a fancy Criterion disc.

FU Criterion. I will not buy another one of your re-releases. I have Fantastic Mr. Fox, thank you. Life Aquatic needs a blu ray edition and if I have to download the iTunes HD, I will not even buy it from you if you ever release it.

Settle down, it's not even their fault. Yell at the studios who actually have the rights to the film before criticizing Criterion, who has done an awesome job with the Wes Anderson films they are allowed to release so far.

The first wave of Criterion dual formats is out now. They're not G1, are they?

I have the movie-only version of this film which I got from Blockbuster Video during one of their old "5 for $20" previously-viewed sales, so I will certainly upgrade to the spiffy Criterion release.

September : Murder My Sweet, Otto Preminger Collection (UK)
October : Avengers: Age of Ultron 3D - Ultron SteelBook™, Thieves' Highway (UK)

I can think of at least two other real Roald Dahl adaptations I would classify as "funnier", and even those aren't at the top.

Kind of just hoping for a wes anderson box set as I only own midnight kingdom. I like his films, and I like criterion but not enough to spend 20 bucks on any of them. (Maybe darjeeling for NP)

Oh boy. It'll be great to get some proper special features and eventually have all the Anderson films on criterion, lined up and looking purdy. I hope Moonrise Kingdom eventually gets released and it's already been said, but I'll also say it... I hope they cussin' release Life Aquatic soon.

I literally just had the Fox release of this arrive today from the recent Fox Connect sale. I was pissed to an extent until I realized it looks like the Criterion release won't have the 45 minute "Making Mr. Fox Fantastic" doc. I'll keep the Fox release for that alone.

I'll still likely get the Criterion too for the extensive set of features besides that missing doc.
