Amazon just reduced the price of my Silent Hill preorder from 19.99 to 16.99. This Blu Ray stuff is not only fun but cheap too.

Sony sent me a copy today and I should have a review up tomorrow evening on the Spot. For those buying go ahead and setup your parental lock. I couldn't get the disc to play without both setting up parental lock and turning it on, at the highest setting (8=adult content allowed). I don't know if it's an authoring bug with the disc or a design bug with the Samsung.
As for the film, it played better for me this time than it did in theaters. Partially, because a 92" pic is more compact. Partly because the audio experience was night and day. It'll definately get reference marks for sound.

Wonder why they didn't do the parental stuff for Underworld Evo, it's gory as hell. Vampires getting their heads sliced in half left right and center.
Keep up the good work fella.

It shouldn't matter if parental lock is off, what the content of the film holds. But, I couldn't get this one to play without both setting up parental lock (picking a password) and actually enabling the feature. Actually the first couple tries, I couldn't even get the disc to load. The first time I had to unplug the player, after I grew tired of watching the hourglass for about five minutes.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I guess it's a disc mastering problem. Thanks for the heads up everyone.. I'll set the parental lock and try to watch it then. long live Blu-ray.

Anyway, it is a good movie. The Batman Begins of video game adaptations, but that doesn't make it the best. Resident Evil 1 and 2 still get the honor for best VG movies. Anyway, if you like the games, you should definitely like this movie. If you like horror movies and have not played the games, you should like everything but the ending (then again, I've played the games and still don't like the ending). If you hate horror movies, hate the video games, there is no hope. |

So? This is Sony we are talking about. They want Sam Raimi to film additional scenes to Spider-Man 2 so they can release an EE DVD in April.
