Hello,
Ive seen this issue mentioned a couple of times now in these forums. Can someone explain what or how to break in my new plasma display. The Pioneer manual has no reference to a break in period, please advise. Thanks, John

With my Pioneer I reduced brightness and contrast and played movies that filled the entire screen for the first 100-150 hours. BD's like Apocalypto, Hellboy, or Ice Age for example.
And after that just be careful with still images like some videogames have. A few hours won't hurt, but try not to leave any images on the screen for several hours or overnight(like if you fall asleep or something) You can increase your bright and contrast after that if you want, but after calibrating mine, I found my setting to be near spot-on. Enjoy your new tv and congrats on owning the best plasma display on the market, IMO.
You're in my spot...

I was told 1000 hours of use before getting mine proffessionaly callibrated. After the callibration the guy said "burn-in" is no longer an issue as long as I dont watch nethin for severel hours non stop. As for games with healthbars and such, I have experienced some "image retention" but not burn-in (image retention is like burn-in but it goes away after a short while).
