Assuming there's no pre-order link for Satan's Blade?

I can't believe this is getting a BD release. Never thought I'd see the day!

Loving the artwork - I'm blind-buying this film based on that art. And because I love slasher films

I caught this on VHS back in the late 80s when I was about ten.

I haven't seen it since, but I recall it being very entertaining.

I'm super excited about this release, and would LOVE a label dedicated to releasing obscure slashers. There are so many!

I've got all the other slasher video DVDs, so I'm definitely in for this one as well. I was amazed for the amount of extras material that Slasher put together for esoterica like Death Nurse and especially Boardinghouse. (For Boardinghouse, they included a director's cut that runs close to 3 hours.)

Great indie company. Their DVDs don't seem to be in the blu-ray.com database, though.

I'm also excited about the potential for Slasher // Video! They could become the only home video label that specifically caters to the obscure slasher fanbase.

I hope the Blu-Ray of Satan's Blade does well, because it could be the start of many more slashers on Blu Ray. This is the only label I ever see taking a shot on films like Death Screams, Savage Weekend and films of that ilk, on Blu Ray, especially, after reading Scream Factory's statement on the financial difficulties of bringing obscure films to the market place- it's hard to sell a large quantity of these types of films.

If the mass distribution approach doesn't work well for obscure slashers, maybe Slasher // Video's 1,000 unit limited approach will work!
My Most Wanted Blu Ray Announcements: 1) Fright (1971) 2) The Prey (1984) 3) Death Screams a.k.a. House of Death (1982) 4) Superstition (1982) 5) Funeral Home (1980) 6) The Dark Ride (1978) 7) The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972) 8) Deadly Games (1982) 9) The Ghost Dance 10) Silent Madness 11) Fatal Games (1984) 12) Next of Kin (1982) 13) Mirage (1990) 14) The Creature from Black Lake 15) Rocktober Blood (Actual HD!!) 16) Edge of the Axe (1988) 17) Haunts 18) TAG:The Assassination Game

Their name pretty much guarantees that

I'm thrilled they exist. Satan's Blade will be my first Slasher Video purchase and I'm very eager to find out what else they've got planned. We desperately needed someone who will cater to this subgenre. Scream Factory, Scorpion, Code Red and others have been great but no one behind these labels seem to be big slasher fans. They're always saying they don't sell, suggesting that they'll eventually move away from releasing them. Whoever is behind Slasher Video obviously loves the subgenre, so that guarantees that we'll see a lot more of them. I've got a feeling that even if they don't sell that well they will keep putting them out for the fans. I'll be more than happy to support them and hope they do well.

From their Facebook page on 4/14, in response to a question about release date:

August // September. Currently waiting (patiently) on a few extras to be completed (at the moment).
I'd love a big ol' trailer reel.

I will buy every slasher they release on Blu. It's not even a question.

I remember praying for Anchor Bay to do a "slasher collection" back in the early 00s, so I'm thrilled that someone is finally picking up the slack.

It's even better hearing that there will be some kind of extras on this release.

I've got a rather silly question but I'm so curious...how does one go about starting up a distributor company for these obscure blu-ray / DVD releases? How do you get the rights to the movie, the original camera negatives? Audio? All that stuff. Some of these companies seem so small that they almost might be one guy doing it. I wonder how much bank it takes to set up something like this, get the license rights for the movies, set up shop to sell them.

I would LOVE to do something like this but honestly have zero idea where to even consider starting.
My Set-Up: JVC DLA-RS540u 4K eshift, 158" 2:35.1 Elite Anamorphic Screen and 11.1 Earthquake surround sound Complete with Denon 6300, Oppo 203

I'd imagine you want to start with one of the labels, and develop the networking and experience to strike out on your own

Hmmm...something's brewing. Sounds like he's going after big titles, probably some studio titles, with wider distribution. Maybe he's eyeing films like Hell Night or The Prey. Some of these titles are owned by big studios. This could be good

I'm skeptical that this is more hyperbole than anything regarding a "major studio" working with Slasher Films. It'd be insane if there were some gems like Hell Night just up for grabs at whatever cost SF could afford to pay at this point although it'd be a great coup that would show some inadequacy with bigger labels like Scream Factory.

An online store is a great idea...
