Children of Men (Import): HELP

has anyone seen the Nordic version of Children of Men on Blu? It 'is' Nordic...right? And anyone who lives over yonder or who has experience importing, can you help me buy this title? I'm desperate for it! Thanks....

I was told that it is region B. So you would have to get a Region B player in order to view it.

It has been confirmed(actual physical disc, not specs) to be region free on other forums. It will play on U.S. players.

I have just palced an order on this item. Unfortunately it shows that it is Region B disc so you can guys over there cant play it. I live here and yet and I did not know about it. Blu-ray is cool

Hey everyone. New poster, long-ish lurker. Anyway, I got my copy today from Axelmusic. It's definitely all-region. :-) Bring on the imports!

Here are some random details.

-Video transfer: AVC. Rates range from ~22-37 Mbps.
-Audio: English DD 5.1, 640 kbps.
-Subs are Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish. All are removable.
-The only menu on the disc is the main menu, which lets you choose the subtitle language.
-No extras. It's just the movie.
-Movie length is 1:49:15. Universal and Strike logos at the front. MPAA rating card at the end.

I don't have golden eyes or ears but the first few minutes of the disc looks and sounds pretty damn good to me. I haven't seen the movie and can't comment on how the transfer compares to the theater and/or the (HD-)DVD.

It is worth the extra bucks to avoid the HD DVD which is a combo and also tends to sssskkkiiipppp, sttuudddddeeeerrr and FREEZE! It also happens to be the best film of 2006. Now, the only must-haves for me from the HD DVD catalog not available on Blu-ray are King Kong, Zodiac, Batman Begins and The Matrix. Personally, I thought Transformers sucked big time. I am confident Warner will be delivering on their titles soon!

It took eight days. I live on the East Coast, near DC.

By the way, I'm going to go ahead and watch the disc now. If I notice anything odd, I'll post afterwards.

EDIT: I just finished watching the film. Nordisk definitely came through with the goods, IMO. I know some will be disappointed that a lossless track isn't included. I encourage people to not let that stop them from picking up the disc; the sound is still quite good. The transfer looks great on my TV. I was able to pick out loads of small details that I'm sure are obscured on DVD. The color scheme seemed appropriate for the material. No bonuses, which is a bit of a shame, but I'll live.

As for the film itself, it's pretty damn brutal. The attention to detail is unbelievable too. You'll find yourself rewatching the film and constantly pausing so that you can catch all the little things, like the newspaper clippings nonchalantly proclaiming that various countries and cities have been nuked off the map. Kudos to the creators for creating a world that is hauntingly familiar.

I remember watching this on DVD before I ever even thought of having Bluray. I wasn't really impressed with the DD 5.1 track. I have heard better on DVD. And while it was a good movie, I felt like there was an underlying "hippie" tone to the whole movie that was blaming global warming for the whole babieless situation in the first place. I'd pick it up if it were local, but it's not worth an import IMO.
