Kingdom of Heaven Blu-ray Review

Just a quick thread!!

I watched Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut in Blu-Ray last week. I allready own it in DVD and to be honest I found the movie normal not to say poor... So i said to myself let's give this movie another try on Blu-Ray with the UNCUT version (about 3h20).

MY GOD!! What an amazing movie, perfect story (the ''CUT'' version had some BIG hole), the picture quality is also amazing.

Just want to tell you this so you will maybe give this movie another try in BLU

For the longest time, I ranked it as having the best PQ of all the blu-rays I had seen. I still rank it near the top and like you said, the movie is great also.

I agree the Director's Cut was a lot better.

Is this the movie with Orlando Bloom? I have the dvd, which was okay. I thought the movie itself was under-rated.

I liked the movie. But I didn't think it was worth it at the time to get it on DVD. Maybe with the directors cut on Blu-ray will spark my interest. I'll most likely buy it after Christmas.

YES! best PQ of any BD on my TV!!! but i was disappointed with the story, probably b/c i don't like ORlando GLOOM

yeah i bought it the first day out on dvd and didnt care for it. maybe i will give it a shot on blu.

It was one of the first movies i bought, and i stil think its one of the best looking movies out there:P looks great, movie was a hell of alot better in DC aswell..

This is one movie I still need to get on BD, it's at the top of my list, if I don't get it for X-Mas, it will be right after. Glad to hear all the positive feedback on this one.

It was my first BD and is one of my favorite movies. The DC is like a completely new movie from the theatrical version.

Yup, watched it on DVD as well as BD. Enjoyed it totally on blu. Bought it on the latest Amazon sale.

Everybody here is right. The movie is good, the pq is good enough, along with others, to say that Fox is doing the best job, even when they are using mpeg-2. I rented this when it came out on DVD, wasn't impressed, but the new DC is great.

This is probably one of the best Director's Cuts ever produced, if only because the theatrical cut was so average.

The theatrical cut is an OK movie, but nothing spectacular, while the Director's cut is probably one of my favorite movies.

The BR version looks and sounds amazing -- I'd love to see one with some good special features and a commentary track with Ridley Scott (he's one of my favorite director's, so I'll listen to his ramblings). An AVC encoded version with the same DTSHDMA track (the DTS core track is probably one of the best sounding non-lossless tracks around) and some extras would be nice... I'd probably double dip for that (on the movies I love, I don't mind double dipping if there's a suitable enough reason).

I wanted to get this on the weekend when they ahd the BOGO sale over at amazon but I couldn't find a second title to go along with it.

I'm hoping for another sale at xmas time with more choices

Epics like this are great for HD

Where's Gladiator & Braveheart??

I rented KoH when it came out on DVD and thought it was missing something. I was disappointed because it looked like another great epic from Ridley Scott.

However, I gave the DC a try on Blu-Ray and was blown away. That extra 45 minutes missing from the theatrical version made a huge difference in the DC.

The only version I seen of this was the Directors Cut and i agree its a great movie.

The difference between the Theatrical Cut and Director's Cut is like night and day. I was very underwhelmed by the movie in the theater and had no desire to watch it again but my father-in-law wouldn't stop hounding me about the DC, I borrowed his copy and was blown away. I easily think this version of the movie could have been an Oscar contender if it would have been released. The Blu-ray is worth every dollar because it looks and sounds beautiful and it is a great film.
