For about 8 minutes in the film in 1 or 2 scenes, the picture is lower than it should be, cutting off people's heads and such.
It means they did not align the "frame" of the movie properly.

they said they are putting them out to be put on shelves. I assume they will be replacing the existing "faulty" discs on the shelves as well as the purchased ones.

I let out a big "YES!!!" when I read the news.

I only bought my PS3 recently and haven't yet sent in for the 5 free discs (still making up my mind on a few). I wonder what the chances are that I'll get a corrected one when my 5 free come since it does take a while for them to fulfill these orders

So what should those of us who already have a copy do? Is there a site somewhere or something? I just bought a copy and could easily return it but would rather not get screwed over 1-3 months from now if they haven't fixed it by then. Anyone know a timeframe? More specific details?

well, they said soon. I believe them. Disney's been pretty good with me/things lately. and it only took 3 days to get my fifth element remastered through the mail. WAS AWESOME!!!

If you have a copy, watch it first. You don't want to watch a movie and look for issues at the same time. I wish I had done that before I learned of this small issue.

I watched mine and never noticed it. Don't think I can replace mine anyway, unfortunately-- I have a Japanese copy of it. I doubt they'll be doing the replacements for it over here.

Like many of the people that have seen the Pirates Blu before we saw the thread of the issue. I did not know anything was wrong. Even after knowing of the issue and where to look, I really dont care. I will probably get a replacement so I can have the correct framing, but if I forget, I am not out anything.

Isn't this basically what Sony did with the old Fifth Element discs? I wonder how consumers who don't have it will know the difference.

Yea same here, but it's nice to know that Disney resolved it and are fixing it instead of just telling us to shut up and live with it!

10's of thousands of people watched their discs for months without ever noticing. It wasn't until months later that a single person pointed it out and everyone freaked out saying it ruined the movie for them.

It is definitely an error on Disney's part and I commend them on fixing it and offering a replacement disc, but to those saying they couldn't watch Pirates 2 because of the seconds of bad framing that you can count on your hands, even if you notice it is pretty silly. And to those that don't know about it, ignorance in this case truly is bliss. It's like asking a DLP owner if they see rainbows.

It's not on Pirates 2, just on 1. I have a DLP, and I see rainbows I always have, it's the only complaint I have about my set.

I'm usually good at picking up flaws in a movie, but didn't pick up on this. Can someone share the chapter numbers the framing issues shows up in or give the time display during the movie. That would be helpful.

I guess if we had that cool HD DVD option where like a few of us could watch together and the host of the party could stop and show us during the movie that would be awesome. Wait a minute, why the heck would I want someone else who is somewhere else pausing the movie I'm watching? Control, control, I must have control....

It starts about where Jack enters the blacksmith shop. It's most apparent during the dual between Will Turner and Jack, there's a couple frames where you can tell Turner's head is supposed to be in frame (I think it's right before they're on the "see saw" before they go up onto the rafters. Also, when they're jumping around in the rafters, all you can see is their feet. You're supposed to be able to see their feet, then the rafter, then the top half of their bodies.

question: does this problem applies to UK discs (I can't seem to identify the problem, even after being told).
