Despite VCI's occasional quality problems, this is one they did a fantastic job on.

I only own one, which while not the greatest, I never expected to arrive on Blu-ray.

I would love a restored edition of Guyana Tragedy on bluray. It was a great Emmy winning role by Powers Boothe.

There are several VCI releases I would love to own...

Unfortunately, my first was And Then There Were None, with it's cover saying "Restored", I thought it would be a good choice, it wasn't. Terrible PQ.

The Night Visitor is an amazing movie, very atmospheric, I highly recommend it!
Just hope the transfer is good.

I only own The Christmas Carol and The Prowler from this label and I need to repurchase 2nd version of The Christmas Carol because of the better encode.

Looks like they ruined another film with aggressive DNR:

In addition to the previously mentioned Gorgo and Dark Night of the Scarecrow, their edition of The Prowler is also recommended - a terrific, edgy noir with some excellent supplements. I'm hoping that the quality of their Ruby and The Night Visitor discs will be more along the lines of those three and less like, well, much of their other catalog.

I just noticed that this was posted on their Facebook last month:

If there is grain, I'm not seeing it, and I'm a bit wary of their claims/pronouncements based on their track record. Another title to wait for caps/reviews on.

Am thinking about finally upgrading my old DVD of White Zombie to BD. The remastered VCI release seems to be the one to get. Any way to tell the first edition apart from the remastered one?

From forum member charlieray1:

"...(if) the VCI logo is on the top of the spine instead of the bottom and the "proof of purchase #9022" is there on the back ... You have the new one."

Regardless, if you order from VCI directly, you'll get the corrected disc.

So The Night Visitor was released today and I have yet to see one review of it anywhere.

Is there anyone out there that has picked this up and can offer any comments on the quality of the transfer?

I have one single VCI release (The Bird with the Crystal Plumage). I would like to pick up Agent 8 3/4 but I don't want to put in an order of just one title from them. I wish they would release more blu-rays, particularly of some of those titles they are carrying on DVD such as the Carry On films.

Agent 8 3/4 is on sale at their site right now - $11.61 shipped. Not a stellar deal, but best price around at the moment.
