About time although I'm sure anyone who is a fan of this has the US Twofer with The Devil's Rejects. If this blu retains the great menu and clips (like Captain Spaulding telling you to hurry up) from the R4 DVD then I'll probably grab it.

though ... it would have been NICER if we scored a double feature locally

(* actually WHY has Blu been so slow on the double / triple feature releases here ??? )

Await to see what audio / extras are on this local version.

Much bigger fan of The Devil's Rejects, but this is still worthy of a purchase.

This is my favourite of Zombies films, so I'll definitely be picking this one up.

Looks like a direct port of the US release. Hopefully it has the Captain Spaulding menu and not one of those typical clunky Umbrella menus with huge amounts of lag in the navigation.

Soundwise, DTS-HR 7.1 will do. Still a major upgrade from my old R4 DVD with half-rate DTS and dodgy NTSC-to-PAL converted transfer.

Isn't there an "All new Interview with William Bassett" exclusive to this release?

The menu is just a scene from the film with an option bar down the bottom.

Dammit! That menu is classic, probably the best DVD menu I've seen. It's obviously the same video and audio encodes as the US release, but with different disc authoring/menu design. Ah well, gonna get it anyway.

One of many movies (around 50 or so) that I've already bought from overseas because it hasn't been released in Australia. Got this back in 2012.

I'm trying to watch this on a friends Laser blu ray player and you can only access the scene access and special features by using the pop up menu option while the film is playing. The option bar isn't showing up on the menu itself. Also, the menu is playing in 4:3 ratio.

That doesn't happen on either of my Oppos. The main menu is on a loop showing the scene between 15:48-16:50, the aspect ratio of the menu is 1.78:1, the menu bar is down the bottom and I can access the scene select menu and the special features menu.

Many thanks for the reply. It has to be a player incompatibility issue. It's a Laser BD1000 which was discontinued a few years ago.

I've tried playing this on a Sony S590 and a Laser BD2000 and the same thing happens with the menu. Only getting the 4:3 menu and no menu bar.

I tested it on my Toshiba BDX3200ky in my guest bedroom, and it is doing what you described on this player. As I reported above, this doesn't happen on either of my Oppo players though (they are set to source direct):

Thanks for that. I've sent off an email to Umbrella to tell them what's happening. Hopefully they can sort something out. I'm sure I won't be the only person this happens to.

I'm assuming Source Direct is the same thing as Original Resolution in my Sony player? That's how mine is set.
