It's quite expensive, will pick this up once it lowers in price.

I'll keep an eye on this. If reviews for the disc are good I'll probably get it. Been waiting a long time for it to get a Blu-ray.

Been wanting to see this in HD for a very long time. Will keep an eye on this for sure. The cover must be some sort of behind the scenes shot since you can see the blue screen in the cockpit windows.

I've thought about this movie on and off for many years now. Can't wait to see it again.

At long last. I have been waiting ages for this one.

It's not a masterpiece like the original Russian film but it is enjoyable nevertheless.

It has been unfairly maligned over the years - it's not nearly as bad as some people make out.

I hope this has a good transfer and decent extras.

I watch the DVD at least once a year. Unlike the original film which I have tried to watch 2-3 times and fallen asleep or got bored each time.

Its not a classic but its very good and why its taken this long to be released is beyond me when they could have released it on the back of Gravity (especially this one given Clooney is in it and the subject matter), Interstellar, The Martian etc...

I think in some ways it's better and more efficient, in other ways, not. Both are pretty similar overall, though. I'm excited to own both.

I wonder what the extra scenes (that have never been seen?) are like. Its not a long film so its shame they couldn't dig them up.

Probably because those three were more crowd-pleasing feel good movies while this one was notoriously hated by audiences (it's one of the few films to ever get an F Cinemascore). The general audiences who loved Gravity or The Martian would likely be indifferent or outright detest this one.

Fox likes to pretend the film doesn't exist, even with the names Clooney, Soderbergh, and Cameron. It's also perhaps the reason why Idiocracy remains unavailable.

Meanwhile, how many people here first became familiar with Viola Davis from this one?

Yeah but it still seems like a missed opportunity. Anyway, what do the audiences know?!

Default Solaris Mediabook

I have just read on the distributorīs website that the DVD included in this set is not the Solaris 2002 movie but the original Russian movie. So you have both the original movie on DVD and the remake on Blu-Ray in a mediabook together with the film poster.

D.

I like the sound of that. Been kinda interested in checking out the original movie for a while now. It'd be good to get as a bonus disc. Even as a DVD. If I really like it I can always replace it with a Blu-ray afterwards.

That said it'd be a German release of a Russian movie. (This bonus DVD I mean.) I'd need English subtitles for it. Hopefully it'll have them.
