Default Snappy Video Discussion Thread

We've been debating an additional line here for some time. After some deliberation, it was decided to go back 28 years! "Snappy Video", started in 1988, releasing collections of cartoons on VHS.

Snappy Video will be the label for releases of different genres. Many of these will be produced with project partner George Unum. The first release for the new Snappy Video is 'Tower of Screaming Virgins' from 1968, soon to be available on Blu-ray. Look for new updates from Snappy Video here!

Default uuummm...

Dr. Lilian Thurman: Donnie, what did Roberta Sparrow say to you?
Donnie: She said that every living creature on Earth dies alone.

Elijah Price: Now that we know who you are, I know who I am. I'm not a mistake! It all makes sense! In a comic, you know how you can tell who the arch-villain's going to be? He's the exact opposite of the hero. And most times they're friends, like you and me! I should've known way back when... You know why, David? Because of the kids. They called me Mr Glass.

I'm down.

Happily, there seems to be no end to the sleaze of the 60's and 70's.
Collecting movies since 1984.

Blu-ray wants: TREASURE ISLAND (1990) SCARECROW OF ROMNEY MARSH (1964) THE DEVIL'S NIGHTMARE (1971)

So you're going to use a label that put out VHS tapes with public domain cartoons to release Tower of Screaming Virgins.

Okay... Weird choice of label, but I hope you're successful.

Yes.

We've batted around name after name for the new venture, and so far it's the favorite of everyone, both in the name and old 80s logo. I also think it's funny to see a movie come out under it after all these years. The print is 35mm (we have two prints of some of the reels) and we'll do clean-up on it as well. Like the Koala a lot. Perhaps a Koala is a better logo

Default SNAPPY VIDEO: Tower of Screaming Virgins pre-order (BDR only)

The resurrected Snappy Video is offering a pre-order of its first release of the swash-buckling, grindhouse/drive in classic, 'Tower of Screaming Virgins' (1968). It is a single BDR Disc, newly scanned from the best materials between two 35mm prints. It is presented it its original aspect ration (1:85). It comes in a standard Blu-ray Case. The release is in conjunction with George Unum.

This release is a limited edition, and it's hard to say if there will be more than 100 copies made. It's an experiment to see what the market may be for these types of releases. If it manages to get over 100 orders, we'll replicate it and send everyone the replicated version as well.

Screen caps will be posted soon!

It is $14.95 plus shipping

Details here!

I had purchased a few of the recent Thunderbean special sets. Is it still necessary to pay shipping on this one if that's the case? I know you had a clause on your last Thunderbean special that it wouldn't be necessary if shipping had already been paid on one of the other sets.

No need to pay extra shipping. If you've bought one recently, I'll send them together...

It sounds like shipping is $3 total if you live in the US and buy a few things, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Planning to pre-order all these, Steve:
Quote:

Abbott and Costello Rarities (Blu-ray/DVD- April release with Bonus disc of extras) $16.95

Tower of Screaming Virgins (BDR only ;Snappy Video') $14.95
How much postage do I need to give you in total, if any? (I've ordered a fair few others and the last one said not to bother paying postage if I'd ordered a previous one)

If you've ordered more than one, I'll cover postage- even if I end up sending separately. Thanks much for the orders!

Here are stills from Tower of Screaming Virgins, from the raw scan with basic color correction (we've started to go further at this point, so this isn't an accurate representation of the final color as of yet...
