Default Need Advice/Opinions On Atmos Speakers

I currently have 5 speaker setup consisting of all Focal 800 series speakers (See Signature). I am going to be getting 2 700 series speakers to round out the full 7 speaker surround since they no longer make the 800 series speakers. What I'm needing opinions on is what to do about the Atmos speakers. I am unable to afford the 4 Focal IC706V to complete the set so I am thinking of doing the Monoprice in ceiling speakers (Alpha, Caliber, and Aria) until I can get the money for them. I am just not sure which ones would match the best with my current setup. I am thinking that the 6.5 inch speakers will be enough speaker (unless someone can convince me otherwise).
TV - Samsung KS9000
Blu-ray - Samsung UBD-K8500
Receiver - Marantz 7010
Amplifier - Parasound 5250
Speakers (L & R) - Focal Chorus 836 V (Ebony)
Speaker (Center) - Focal CC 800 V (Ebony)
Speaker (SBL & SBR) - Focal 807V (Ebony)
Subwoofer - Tannoy 10.2

Those 8" Calibre's are pretty nice.
I won't sway you against 6.5" because I have Paradigms that size. I've tortured them and they take it. I'd imagine the 6.5's you got your eye on will take it too.
The price is right and I'd go for the 8" Calibre's if I were in your shoes.
I would be more inclined to grow up, If I saw that it worked out for everyone else.

Speakers set up for atmos should not be very demanding. Dont spend all your money on atmos, I tried Micca $50 speakers and Kl1psch $400 speakers and the difference was tiny. But as already mentioned, I would get the 8".

Why the Kevlar and not the Carbon Fiber? If I go with the 8" and I do eventually get the Focal ceiling speakers that means a ceiling patch to make the hole smaller which shouldn't be a big deal but might be noticeable. Will the 8" be that much better than the 6.5" for Atmos/DTS-X?

I also agree. I have 6.5 inch monoprice and they do a good job, but sometimes i feel they are slightly "tinny sounding" as crossover is 68 hz for my speakers.
If i had the space for 8 inch i would have gone with 8's.

I would go with the 8 inch, the difference between the Focal and the monoprice in ceiling speakers will be minimal at best. Save the money and get the monoprice.
