Hate to say it, but would be much better if it was a complete set.. still nice though.

I believe Australia was the first country to get a Death Wish complete set on DVD, with the inclusion of an Uncut DW2.

I'm sold. "Chicken's good. I like chicken." But will it include the recipe for Mrs Kaprov's delicious cabbage soup? Just the thing after gunning down a punk trying to lift your car stereo...
"Gentleman, that last remark is not for publication. This is a D notice situation."

Good thing I never picked up the Shout release of Death Wish 2.
"All these years you looked back on that day, drunk on the memory of its perfection. How shiny her lips - how instant your connection."

Well obviously, are they uncut? And will there be a release of the first one any time? Either way it's probably time to upgrade, might just hunt down the US release since it's region free. I've only ever owned the first one on DVD anyway (region 2 copy)

From the FB Post:

Quote:
Vengeance coming at you on Blu-Ray in August as our next entry in the Cannon Classics Collection - DEATH WISH 2 and DEATH WISH 3.
On the Blu-Ray:
DEATH WISH 2 - The Unrated Director's Cut
DEATH WISH 3
Death Wish 2 and 3 Theatrical Trailers
Death Wish 2 and 3 TV Spots
Interviews with cast members Alex Winter, Robin Sherwood, screenwriter David Engelbach - and Todd Roberts, son of producer Bobby Roberts. (Extended interviews from Mark Hartley's ELECTRIC BOOGALOO)
ACTION II: 52 minute making-of featurette from 1985 with Behind the Scenes footage of Death Wish 3, Runaway Train and House
And because we all love as much Bronson as humanly possible, we've got a bonus DVD in this set containing:
DEATH WISH 2: ORIGINAL THEATRICAL CUT
DEATH WISH 2: TV CUT
DEATH WISH 2: GREEK VHS CUT (containing approx 3 mins of footage not available anywhere else)
The Unrated, Theatrical and the much discussed amongst die hard Death Wish fans Greek VHS cut are all also prefaced by Bronson biographer and author Paul Talbot.
*Art shown not final.

Looks like a solid effort!

Doesn't look like I'll be upgrading DW1 any time soon, unless Umbrella somehow secures the rights or Roadshow does a local release of the WB disc. It's thoroughly OOP and going for full-retard prices if it's available at all.

Isn't the first Death Wish owned by Sony here?

Eh? It's OOP? Damn, it was only a ten buck title too.. oh well, it wasn't really a good 'Anniversary' edition anyway.

It's good to see some catalogue titles that I'm interested in, getting a local release. The amount of catalogue titles released locally in the first half of this year has been a little lite in my opinion. Hopefully Umbrella have more like this planned for the second half of the year (some from peoples suggestions when they asked on Facebook would be great).

A complete collection certainly would be welcome. I'd love to have a G2 sized case for Death Wish V, rather than the G1 Mediabook I own:

Is the Unrated Cut of Part II going to have Paul Talbot's audio commentary?

That seems to be the only real extra on Shout's edition.

Looks like a great release. I've always held off purchasing these films, but it's now time to cash in.

Hey folks, just to clarify:

1. Death Wish 3 is also uncut
2. Umbrella is looking into the other entries in the series.
3. Any other Cannon Doubles that you'd like to see hit Blu?

Cheers
Si

Hopefully they will release all the Death Wish films in the series.

List of The Cannon Group films i'd love to see released locally on blu-ray.

Some I'd like to see:
  • Last Rites
  • Storm
  • Night Terrors
  • Exterminator I&II
  • Evil Angels
  • Schizoid
  • Haunted Honeymoon
  • Hard Rock Zombies
  • House of Long Shadows
That there is one damn fine coat you're wearing.

4K UHD - The Experts Agree, Occasionally it's a little better!

For Sale: Alfred Hitchcock Boxed Set (AU), Jacques Tati Collection (AU), Warner 50 Film Collection (AU), Hammer Horror Collection (AU)
