Resident Evil: Extinction No Dolby TrueHD?

I'm stuck. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but Resident Evil 3 will not display Dolby TrueHD on my Onkyo SR805. I have the latest firmware on the Panasonic BD30K. I've also inserted a different movie (300) and selected TrueHD, which I had no problems. All my settings on the BD30K are set to bitstream. I've tried secondary audio with off and on settings, and nothing.

Anyone having the same issue?

If you still got the receipt I'd just go back and exchange it, maybe it's something with the disc.

its either the disk or the panny, my 805 displays TrueHD with the Sammy 1400

Well, I hope its the disc. I put all the movies I own that have TrueHD and had no problem. I clicked on Display and it says TrueHD, but the receiver doesn't show it.

Just bought the panny bd30k and am waiting to receive it today, but can you tell me how resident evil 3 deals with panny´s profile 1.1, is it cool to what the extras with it?

Are the movies loading times fast with panny bd30k? Do you like the player?

I love the Panny, but now I'm a bit worried with this problem. I started with firmware 1.2...then upgraded to 1.3 and it felt like it loaded faster so make sure you update to the latest firmware.

OK, mine is doing the same thing with my 805 and Panny 30. The display for the 30 also shows on mine as TrueHD and it sounds like its the TrueHD playing (to my ears anyway). I watched RE 1 and it shows TrueHD when I play that. Let me know if you fix it. Thanks.

I have the latest firmware on the Panasonic BD30 married to a Pioneer VSX-94TXH. NP w/ other titles I tested (Blade Runner/5th Element)... they display Dolby TrueHD as expected; Panny indicates the correct processing.

There have been rumors that some discs will be locked and unable to output Dolby TrueHD via bitstream and that the player WILL have to decode. Not sure if this is the issue, or something less sinister.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm going to exchange it and see if it is the disc.

No problems for me. I have the Samsung 1400 and the Onkyo 805. TrueHD indicator light came on and all was fine for me. Exchange your disc, you don't want to miss this TrueHD track, it is excellent.

I exchanged the disc. Same problem. Something tells me this is a Panny issue. Anyone else own the BD30K, SR805 and Resident Evil 3? Two other people with the Panny bd30k are having the same problem.

I will try tonight if my order arrives (and it should because Amazon shipped it on Monday (Prime)). I have a Panny BD 30 and Integra 9.8 (same thing as Onkyo). I am still running firmware 1.2 (was lazy over the holidays).

Make sure if you are having problems to call Panasonic. I just talked to the tech people and they said they have not had any calls about this yet, but the more they get the better. They log all the calls and send the data to the appropriate dept for a firmware fix.

It only takes a few minutes to get through at 1-800-211-7262.

Not sure if this helps, but I needed to go into the Onkyo's OSD and under the Audio Preset section select your input for BD and change the TrueHD to force "TrueHD" rather than "Last Valid".

I have the 605 and that fixed my issue of passing the correct audio.

It worked for me.....

Acomire, I've tried, and still no luck. Thanks though. I think the signal that tells the receiver its TrueHD is not coming through. On the other hand I put it on Ultra2 Cinema and it packs quite a punch. Sounded better than my PS3.

I did call Panasonic and all they said was to call Onkyo. I'll probably try that but I feel like I'm just going to go in circles.

You know what? Now that I got home and tested, I have the same problem.....

I mentioned the Onkyo audio settings since I needed to do that for ROTSS and that it might help you. I have the Panny & the Onkyo 605 and I am not getting the Dolby TrueHD indicator either.

I hardly believe that it is an Onkyo issue as my other titles with either TrueHD or DTA-MA work just fine. It is probably a disc mastering issue..

Well, hopefully someone will notice this thread and provide some assistance. If you are having problems maybe contact Panasonic or Sony. Anyone else with a Panny/Onkyo (605 and up) having problems with RE3?

Since RE3 has PiP, doesn't that mean that the audio must be encoded in "Advanced Mode"? And since "Advanced Mode" audio cannot be bitstreamed, wouldn't that be the source of your issue?

From what I understand, The BD30K is full Profile 1.1 compliance and has advanced audio support. Plus, there is an option to turn the secondary audio on and off. I currently have mine to off. Otherwise, what was the point of buying a profile 1.1 player with only bitstream abilities if it can't do 1.1 discs?
