Default Dark Age (1987) Coming To Blu-ray From Umbrella!

From Umbrella's Facebook page:
Quote:
You All Asked for it! DARK AGE is coming to Blu-Ray for the first time ever Worldwide! Lots of NEW Special Features To Be Announced! New Artwork and More! #staytuned To @umbrellaentertainment for more info!

This is excellent news. I've been asking for this one any chance I got. Would have taken a bare-bones Blu for the sake of the film in HD, but it's getting the full treatment. Day freaking one!

Awesome, that was one of the titles I emailed them, when they wanted people's recommendations.

Finally! This is much more like it from Umbrella after the disappointing DVD only announcement of Innocent Prey. When Synapse's release fell through, I was afraid this would never hit the format. My undeniable favorite of all the killer croc/gator films, and I'm glad they're going for more extras than the DVD had. Hope a Nikki Coghill interview is among them.

Possibly to be transferred from Quentin Tarantino's 35mm print? The only one known to be remaining in the world, apparently. No idea if the negative or other generations in between still exist.

Don't worry, it'll be on one side of the slick or the other, so you'll be able to pick which you want on display.

Default Dark Age (1987)

Hi Folks

Another one hitting in September on Blu - DARK AGE!

From the Umbrella FB page:

Ozploitation Classic DARK AGE makes it's way to Blu-ray in September for the first time, including an array of special features!
-Audio Commentary with Actor John Jarratt and Executive Producer Antony I. Ginnane
-A Bicentenary with Bite: Revisiting “Dark Age”- Panel discussion with film historians Lee Gambin, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Emma Westwood and Sally Christie
-Uncut Not Quite Hollywood Interviews with John Jarratt and Antony I. Ginnane
-Living With Crocodiles (50 minute documentary from 1986 with Grahame Webb, author of 'Numunwari', the book which inspired DARK AGE)

Outer art (reverse has a 'naked' variant of the key art without rating label).

Cheers
Si

PS: Bonus points if you find the easter egg...

With John Jarrat being a fixture on at Supanova, it would be awesome to be able to buy the cover art as a print to get signed!

Can't wait to give this one a crack, looks like it has a nice selection of extras. The idea of seeing the flick in high def for the first time is mightily exciting. A priority, day 1 purchase.

I wonder if he'd misspell his own name to match the cover art.

I actually wrote it with a second t, but saw the cover and figured I must have been mistaken.

This is listed as in-stock on Umbrella's website, with a release date of 06/09, is that correct? Or does that mean September 6th? In either case, should I assume that the price will drop from its current $34.99?
