Italian language and English subs is nice, but you know the subs with be riddled with errors. I'd like an English track as well, maybe from another publisher?

It's definetly Ok, but I know the film has an english track which is actually quite good. I also know german DVD releases have included it before, so it's not as if it's unavailable.

Does a german release exclude a UK release for some time or are they seperate fields?

Separate. Countries are generally licensed individually, licencor makes a sale to each country that wants it. This maximizes profits.

Ok, so a UK Eyeball release is still possible!

The thing is... if anyone here knows the story between Code Red and 88 Films (and how 88 Films likes to sneak out their blus as region free despite printing "region B" on the backs of their blus), companies could "accidentally" add the subtitles or ripped dubs (granted, in low quality dvd audio tracks) that are only accessible via the remote control and who's going to know, much less do anything?

As much as I can't stand 88, Bill doesn't region code his discs either.
The plural of GIALLO is GIALLI

I suggested something to this effect to a US publisher and it's a risk no one wants to take.
If someone did come asking questions, it would reflect poorly on the parent company and is bad for everyone.

Region coding missing from a release looks like an oversight cause it's something that wasn't added. They can maintain plausible deniability. Adding something like that would be very clearly intentional. (thought it would be awesome)

English subs can only be accessed while watching the german dub on this, gonna make a rip of it and watch it through a mediaplayer. Too bad.

I know. Personally, I don't really care as long as I can get cool movies on blu-ray. Bill pretty much deleted the region coding in reaction to 88 Films, but even regardless of who did what first, as far as sneaking audio/sub options on a disc...

Wow, this actually has an English track.

Unfortunately it's a commentary track by the groan inducing Troy Howarth.
I am once again reminded how boring and devoid of any actual information his ramblings are. How he was selected to appear on this release is a mystery.

The English subs as expected have some ridiculous errors.

Maybe because he's written two of the best books on the giallo genre?

Can't stand Howarth, myself. Not sure why he's the go to guy for commentaries all of a sudden. He must be cheap. I had more than my fill of him back in the DVDManiacs days.

Glad you enjoy, glib, purely superficial & not so witty banter,
devoid of any real substance or any info not readily found on the IMDB.

Blu looks awesome but with no English track beside the Emperor on the there, I'll hope for a proper English dics to come out somewhere.
